I wouldn't really call it stupidity, i'd call it originality.

Its going to take time to make somthing that will really sound good. Just like this...

It's gotta be a joke, right? He actually titled the thread "my ghetto setup" and now he's getting offended that people are calling it ghetto?

...why not just hook up a 3 foot home theater speaker and bungee cord it down in the passenger seat? That'll sound sweet too.

Yooo.. Time Out. I about fell out of my chair. Its only 9am and this just made my day. What I don't understand is.. how the sub facing the dash sounds any better than the sub facing the back of the seat? This is all too much to handle this early.

Ok . . . . everybody chill the *UCK OUT!!! Each of us has the right to do with his/her own vehicle whatever the hell he/she wants. As far as everyone's negative comments, I'm going to give the guy props.

Why, you ask? Because he made the sound system in his car sound TONS better than the factory sound system or even the "premium" factory BOSE system. AND he did it for considerably less money than many people have paid for that highly overrated and overpriced factory BOSE.

I like his setup. Why, you ask? Because he LISTENED to the system and decided subwoofer placement based on how it best SOUNDED to him . . . NOT how it looked or how many *ucking neon lights he could surround it with. Unless, any of you have actually HEARD his car, how can you intelligently comment on his SOUND system. AND he already said the subwoofer placement is temporary, until he finds a place more convenient to his passenger, but that still sounds good to him.

Enough said? If anyone would like to challenge the validity/intelligence of my arguments . . . bring it on. Oh, by the way, I AM an MD.

I am selling crack for $10 today, and I just sold MSGARETT some.

Are you out of your mind? The title says it all. GHETTO. He posted it, WE DOGG IT. It is like having a car with a rear deck and putting (8) 6X9's just sitting in the rear deck and a KRACO 1000 watt EQ powering them. GHETTO< GHETTO< GHETTO.

The amp was not put in properly, wires hanging all over the place, and the box is lets just say, NOT MADE FOR THAT CAR.

If you can afford $26K PLUS, then you should be able to afford a decent setup. He has good componets, why not spend the extra $150 and get it done right the first time.

He opened the can, we are just filling it with laughter.

MSGARETT, Dude Chill out, it is up to his satisfaction or personal taste, for me i would not post that install here or in any other place, for me i wouldn't even think of using that set up, if you want a nice system you have to build it correct, not just stick a speaker box in the front seat and say "LOOK AT MY SYSTEM" it's nothing to look at and it's going to get negative comments. He just spent 30K on a car and installed a $5 system. (didn't mean to flame u chia).

So what do MDs now about stereo systems anyways
BRING IT

Who's on crack? That's right I think I saw you in the ED last night . . . took some benzos to calm your crack *** down! Hey, man, at least spell the name right.

Seriously, though. I think chia recognizes that his setup isn't very visually appealing. He even said he plans to upgrade to something more aesthetically pleasing. But for now, he seems to have chosen some fairly quality components, that should, if properly tuned, sound just fine.

Not everyone can afford to spend $5000+ on a sound system. Me, yes. Him, maybe no. I keep saying he/him, for all I know chia could be female. Doesn't matter. The validity of my comments stand.

He should not have posted it...............PERIOD... Since he did, he is free to get bashed and flamed.

If he doesn't have 5K to spend then don't buy the componets then.

I am done bashing CHIA, and I hope he gets the install done right. I am interested in seeing his BEFORE/AFTER pics. I am sure it will be a big improvement,

Laters,

BTW, are you a female MSGARRETT1?

Nope, and call me Shane. Hey, did your clear bra issue ever get settled? Hope the C-Springs Nissan dealership steps up and re-paints your vehicle. No excuse for using a razor blade on your clear bra install. Like I said, when I was a cadet there at the USAFA, I had several cadets tell me about issues with that Nissan dealership.

As for Chia . . . if you post here, yes, expect criticism. But it should at least be CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. Tell him, his system may sound good, but the sub-woofer placement is inconvenient to his passenger and not very visually appealing, and that his amp wiring could be cleaner. Leave it at that. Or better yet, refer him to some pics of some other installs on this forum so he has an idea of what can be done. Hey, Chia . . . here's my first setup: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=27231 Later I added some kickpanels: https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=31971

To reply to 350Z-RED . . . what does being a physician have to do with car audio knowledge? NOTHING . . . but being an IASCA judge does. DONE?

Chia: You've got a nice car and some nice components. At least for the security of your stuff, you should relocate the subwoofer. A theif would see that enclosure in the floor and realize it would only take about 10 seconds to bash the window and run with that box.

Here's a link to a thread I started including pictures of my subwoofer install.

https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....threadid=44534

I know I did it with an 8, but there is plenty of room to do the same design with a 12. I hereby authorize the replication of my subwoofer enclosure design If you have any questions or need any help feel free to ask!

If this is infact, legit:

Save up and do it all at once. Get an idea for what you want, then once you got all the $$ just get it done right the first time.

If you're impatient for "Bump" then ya could not close the hatch all the way.

Try it, loud *** Bass.

why don't you just take the seat out entirely? Then, at least, you'll lose some weight...
