Default First ever in a 350z!

I'm pretty sure this is the first design of its type in a 350z. I wanted a ported enclosure to fit in the space behind the driver's seat...this first pic shows the first box I built that fit through the rectangular opening, but it wasn't enough air space

This shows the sides of the enclosure, 3/4" MDF, cut to fit closely to the contours of the metal...

Now the finished product. Kicker comp VR 8 with approximately 200-225 watts on each voice coil. The amp is a cheap Phoenix gold that bought from a friend years ago for $70, but it does the job!

This panel was rattling quite a bit, but some 3/4" foam tape took care of that With the panel in place everything looks factory...

Here's the port...I drilled a 2.5" hole for the 2" PVC port to pass through. It's sealed with a plastic flange and silicone caulk. It is between the speaker bar and the rear STB in the trunk. Eventually I will fiberglass it to make it more visually appealing

This setup sounds amazing for it only being an 8" sub! I can use my Alpine HU to dial in tight, punchy bass or very deep, boomy bass. There are no rattles or air leaks as I used silicone and Great Stuff foam to seal everything.

Some pics of the rest of my system...

You do all the work yourself, doc?

I live in Spartanburg, and have a client who does this work, so I was wondering.

Yeah I did it all. I never removed the driver's seat, so it was difficult working inside that space (my back is still pissed at me ) I've done installs in my previous 5 vehicles, but this one was the most challenging.

Btw, I'm down the road in Anderson

I want to fit a 10 sub in that space behind seat. I want to have mucho bass since in my last car i had 2 15s!

The port is just forward of the rear strut tower brace, on the driver's side. It is just behind the separation that houses the rear 6.5's, letterboxes, and glove box. It fires into that corner on the left side.

I'm sure you could do the same thing with a 10", I just used an 8" because that's what I already had. Good luck!
