Install Guide:Bose, Kenwood DNX7100, PAC ROEM-NIS2, 03 cubby painted, cubby monitor
turns out, dumb *** last owner dicked with the arrangement of the wires in the connector changed them on both ends.. so when i plugged in my new harness tehy werent connected to the right wires.. ****!
Great DIY write up. Question, does anybody know if you could do the same thing with the (dual zone) video and audio with a DNX 5120 ??? In other words can you watch to seperate things with the 5120 and a monitor in the cubby..
i have 04 z with bose audio, would PAC ROEM-NIS2 will work? if i want to put headunit ?
b/c on the site it says it will only work with years up to 03 so i got little confused.
thanks

Wow, very informative - Thanks!
This thread will definitely help make my install much easier.
For anyone who is debating whether to paint the cubby lid - Here is my pix that compare the 03 lid to the 07 lid.

Update: The 03 lid color don't match at all and the 2003 have a shine/metallic look.

No you can not do that with this setup.
But you can with this one:

I just installed a Pinoeer AVH-P4000DVD for my Bose w/Navi by using PAC ROEM-NIS2. I also installed the bypass switch to play DVD. Here is the info for installing the bypass switch:
-Get a push button switch from radio shack (see info for switch below)
-Get the wire from the head unit and connect it to one side of the terminal of the button
-Cut another wire and attach it to the other side of the terminal on the button and ground it
Momentary Pushbutton Switch, Normally Closed, rated 0.5A at 125VAC, 0.3A at 50VDC. The part number is 275-1548 at Radio Shack. That was for a pack of four.
Also, there is no solid blue wire from the pioneer harness(at least for P4000DVD), so connect the white/blue wire from pioneer harness to both the white/blue and solid blue wires from the PAC harness. This will power both the bose amp and antenna power. Just match the other wires as shown on this thread.
The Bose speakers actually sound really good, all speakers and sub are working perfectly. It took me around 3 hrs to install this unit (first time doing audio installation).

can someone tell me where to connect the PWK SW wire? and the blue wire from my amp do i connect that wire to EXT CONT (external amplifier control wire pink/black) or the AMP turn on wire (blue and white wire)??
thanks in advance

For non Bose it is pretty much the same expect you wont need the PAC and in its place you would just use a normal metra harness.
Took me about 3 or 4 hrs if I remember correctly. I was taking my time and also taking lots of picture but I'm sure I could have done it faster.

I have a Power Acoustik 7" cubby monitor and it has a red 12v wire and a black ground. How do I give power to the monitor? My Navi already is using that red wire for it's power. Do I attach all three together or what?
