My sub would cut out too. Replaced the relay like in the guide and now it's fully working!

Thank you so much!! This was EXTREMELY helpful. I have done the "tape fix" twice and the problem comes back and I am sick of it. Such a little stupid thing.

Here we are, a year later. I bought the relay, which kindly sits on my desk waiting for somebody who has any skills at all on soldering.

I am trying to find a local shop willing to solder this on for me. In the meantime, my ride to work is only 3 minutes so barely notice the cut outs...

This information for those who would like to fix the problem instead of the band-aide fix in the Youtube video. Enjoy!
I was having a hard time finding the relay because most were either discontinued or out of stock BUT I found the replacement and thought I'd post that updated information here. You can use a R46-5D12-12 in place of the R46-5D3-12 and it can be found on Amazon:

It worked beautifully for me (on an Infiniti FX45 subwoofer). I also had to use the alternate 5 pin socket. Easy fix. Thanks to all that contributed to this.

YOU’RE A LIFESAVER. Idk about you but for me I had to bend the pins and fiddle with it for the relay to fit in the board but other than that i restored my bass in my Z!

i accidentally quoted the wrong post haha. But either way your relay that you linked did the trick aside from fiddling with the pins to make it fit on the board!
