So, first time posting here. I bought a 2007 HR 350z this year, and it only came with one key. This type of key.
I purchased a spare flip-out key from eBay, which I believe is correct for the vehicle. However, after following multiple guide I am having issues programming it.
I attempted the following and was unable to get the hazards to flash, I believe this could be it is a Japanese version.
1. Close and lock all doors with the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch.
2. Insert key in ignition and remove it from the ignition key cylinder a minimum of six times within 10 seconds. Your hazard lamps will flash if you have performed this step successfully. (Withdraw key completely from ignition cylinder each time). If this procedure is performed too fast, system will not enter programming mode.
3. Insert key into the ignition cylinder and turn to ACC position.
4. Within 5 seconds, push any button on the keyless remote. Your hazard lamps should flash. (Do not press the button more than one time in the above step). If the button is pressed more than one time, the programming procedure will not be successful.
5. If there are any remaining remotes (including the old ones), unlock then lock all doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch. Within 5 seconds, push ANY button on the next remote. Your hazard lamps should flash. Repeat this step for each keyless remote (including any existing keyless remotes).
6. Turn the key to the OFF position, remove keys from the ignition, unlock doors using the driver’s side power lock/unlock switch and open the driver side door.
I found another thread with the following instructions; However, after pressing any combination of buttons on the new remote I get no response from the car.
1. Sit in the car and lock the doors using the drivers door lock switch on the door handle not the one with the window buttons. The lock on the control panel only locks the passenger door but the door switch in the handle locks both doors.
2. Insert and pull out the key 6 times within 10 seconds until the door unlocks (no lights flash) do not take out the key when the door unlocks. The door unlocks when you insert the key for the sixth time, If you take the key out and insert it again it will not program.
3. Turn the key to the acc postion and then lock the doors with the same button you used in step 1.
4. Push the unlock button on the key and the doors will unlock if succesful.
5. Remove key and open doors.
I can confirm the key has a battery as the light comes on, I am yet to get the key cut and I am hesitant to unless I can program it. Any help?
