You would not need the PAC NIS2 if you are going to replace the amp. As far as the stock NAV, I am sure there will be complications there but am not sure what you would need to get it working.

If you change the speakers and add aftermarket amplifiers to run them you do not need the Pac OEM-1 any longer. You only use it to retain the factory amplifiers. The stock nav will still work, but there is some amount of rewiring to get the nav audio to work. There is a thread that explains how to do it.

Thanks OP for writing this DIY.
I was wondering what you did with the 'Arm Trigger' wire thats blue and white. I'm installing an Avic-D3 and have no idea where it goes.

Thanks for all your help.

The Avic-D3 does not have a blue/white wire so you dont connect it to anything. So that would make 5 wires from the PAC that are not connected to anything if you are installing a D3.

The Metra harness has almost the same wires that the PAC has except the Metra has the orange/black dimmer and the PAC has the 4 extra speaker wires.

If you look at orbitalpunk wiring picture you will see that he as the blue/white wire 'X' off. That is because there is not another blue/white wire to hook it up to. Be sure to connect both the solid blue ones though.

Wow, very informative - Thanks!

This thread will definitely help make my install much easier.

For anyone who is debating whether to paint the cubby lid - Here is my pix that compare the 03 lid to the 07 lid.

Update: The 03 lid color don't match at all and the 2003 have a shine/metallic look.

Sorry to bring this one back, but what is the difference, size wise, on the interior of the cubby..i heard the 07 was smaller.

I tried it myself and the 03 Lid is much smaller than the 07 Lid. I am still researching on finding a way to fabricate something to fill in the gaps. So this project is still "pending".
Check out the pics for more detail.

Notice how the colors don't match.

It didn't flush out to the edge

The interior liner didn't flush to the housing

Also when the 03 Lid retracts back -- it will barely clip the Triple gauges housing; making it caught and won't retract without me assisting it.

So now my 03 Lid is just sitting there taunting me. *back to the drawing board

I don't quite understand your question. Just added another sideview pic of the 03 Lid in the 07 Housing.

Just finsih install a D3 with PAC,
and want to make a correction,
if u have bose system the blue/white wire from the PAC should connected to the D3's blue/white wire, or else it will have no sound, coz the amp wont turn on.

Sorry, i meant inside the cubby. Is there a difference in the amount of space inside the cubby from the 03 to the 07? Can you mount a 6.95" monitor in the 07 cubby with modification?
