Has anyone passed 2000km yet?
the road trip was great.. about 4k kms on the odo now. got up to 200km/hr a few times, no problem at all.. managed to time one run - 100-200 km, 16.6 seconds... i dont really know how this compares to other cars! it certainly felt quick anyway... the overtaking capacity of this car is sooooo much better than its 0-100 ability... 3rd gear at 100 is fantabulous...
by the way am i the only one who has been slightly disappointed by fuel econmoy? ive been managing about 8 kms/litre combined city/freeway.
the best freeway consumption is pretty good tho... u can do 12.5 by keeping it about 100 in 6th, i average about 11.2 on the trip, thats including going thru albury-woddonga and some other towns and a fair few high rpm runs and overtakes...

I will keep 16.6 sec in mind for when i get a chance to compare
As for fuel consumption, I average around 8 kms/litre as well. In fact haven't bettered it yet.........maybe less right foot would help.
Got 2000km on the clock now
Where are my keys.......

Yesterday I saw another Z at a crossing near where I live. It was a Le Mans Sunset coloured one, couldn't tell whether Track or Touring. I was going the other way so I couldn't get a good look at either car, driver, model nor number plate, but the sighting came as a shock... "Z-lander.. there can be only one!"
Fuel consumption amounts to <8 km/L in city cycle, but >11km/L on country drives with lots of 6th gear driving. On my last full tank I did 665 km (literally drove on the very last drop!!), and after I fully filled it up again it said DTE 666 km! Was quite a scary experience, to run about 30 km in the middle of *&^$# nowhere with the DTE display blinking on zero (looks a bit like this: DTE _ _ _ _ ).
Assuming the total fuel capacity is 75 L (people with the tech specs handy, please correct me), I'm thus doing 8.9 km/L in average, which corresponds amazingly accurately to the agerage 11.3 L/100 km consumption displayed on the energy rating sticker on the showroom Z. (If I recall this figure correctly)
I'm past my 2000 km break-in period, so I have occasionally taken it to 6000 rpm, just to see what it's like. Does the car in general feel any faster than before... certainly not. I am getting more used to it and thus operate it a bit more smoothly... yes. Doing a couple of overtake manoevres, I can report that the car keeps pulling nicely at the higher revs. Example: Doing about 100 km/h in 4th gear, and then flooring it to get past someone quickly. It is possible to quickly get to about 180 km/h in 4th gear without redlining it.
In 6th gear, 220 km/h is about 5500 rpm if I remember correctly (I was busy keeping the car on the road and I wanted to live to tell). I still had my shift-warning LED set to 4000 rpm, and from about 160 km/h onward it felt like "running out of gears" because the 4000 rpm warning LED set in and I instinctively kept trying to change into a higher gear. I have since increased the RPM setting for this pesky LED to 4500 rpm
