My 350Z is enjoying a sea cruise
Rang the dealer - my car left Japan on the 7th aboard some cruise ship (probably yours too Bev). At the moment I believe the agenda is deck quoites, followed by a fancy dress party and dinner at the captains table tomorrow night.
I only hope the is no wandering to other types of cars in the night - especially Hyundai, KIA etc.
Well at least my wife has her new car (a Camry fully optioned) - a very very good car. She won't drive the hire car (a Subaru Liberty) as it is a manual and a bit of a dog. (no leather, electric seats etc).
The worst is it will probably arrive the day I'm leaving to fly to Cairns and drive to Sydney so I will have to wait another 11 days.

Thanks for the info.
I recon they will both be pulling all the good looking chicks on board.
Best not tell your wife!
Just hope the crew don't clear the decks and start doing "circle work."

Car2 and Bev, have either of your dealers told you your order has been allocated a serial number? When I spoke to my dealer he'd only recently moved into the position and wasn't sure if that meant it had arrived in the country or not.
Car2, I believe that both of our cars will be docking into Fremantle on March 11th. My dealer tells me that it takes up to 8 working days for all vehicles to be delivered and to expect a phone call around the March 18th to 19th. I don't believe that Bev's car will be offloaded into Perth for delivery into Cairns.
I have asked to be present when the car is offloaded from the transporter, and for the pre-delivery test drive. I want to confirm zero km's. No joy riding red liners for my car.
Someone I know had a test drive at another Perth dealership, and the car was given a very good work-out, 6000 plus, even though it had only 300k's on the clock. I would never buy a demo model performance car.

My dealer confirms your information. Be nice to get it early!! I agree re idiots mistreating cars. I'm hoping to there as well. If you feel like comparing notes give me a call on 0410639017 (Chris). or email at quicktraining@bigpond.com.

Thanks for the info maijar!
I was hoping there would have been a shipment for the east coast coming separate to the one that docked in Perth.
Any chance you know the name of the ship?

Sorry Bev, don't know the details.
It seems reasonable to assume the West Coasters would travel separately though.
Does anyone know the process the car would go through once it gets off the boat - how long does it take to get to the dealers, who/what gets done in the meantime?

The Perth Z's are in Fremantle.
We visited the new Maritime museum today at the Fremantle harbour, and saw a batch of new Nissans on the dock, lined up ready for transporting. We spotted some Z's in the bunch as well.
For anybody in Perth expecting a March delivery, including myself, our wait could almost be over. I don't know how long it will take to clear them, as there were an awful lot, including Mazda's and Honda's.

You mates have to post some pics of yourselves with the cars once they arrive.
By the way, do y'all really use the word "mates" or is that just a left over from the Dundee movies?

At the moment it doesn't matter what anyone in the US says our Government will agree with it.
In Oz if you say it the right way you can call someone just about anything you like. Get the tone wrong and you might be in trouble.
As your a fellow Zite, we know your friendly.
In reply to "Congratulations on your Zzzzs you-down-under bastards". I would say, "Thanks Mate!", but thats just me.
ps. Thanks for the info maijar

I went to the Fremantle docks yesterday and saw 10 350Z lined up. Patricks would'nt let me in to see them - I could just see my Daytona Blue about 8 cars back.
Really pathetic I suppose - but I'm going to be away when it is available......Have to wait until I get back in 2 weeks.
Bev I'm not going to Cairns as there is dengue fever in your neck of the woods.
