BELL HID Conversion
Nope, but i just got my Philips HID 5000K from the US today it took me almost 3 hours to install it and looks fantastic. I will take picture later... I got if for $440 with postage.
Dam, Dam, Dam - always find out after you have spent the bucks. Well at least I have something to compare with. The kit seems well made, its a little higher power than others i have seen 35W vs 32W which in terms of actual light output is significant. The 6000K bulbs arn't strongly colored - which suits me down to the ground. ( demo system )
PS - havn't done the fit yet, where did you put the ballasts ? any "tips" I should know about ?

It's pretty tempting at that price.

The price for 5000K is USD$399 + postageUSD$60-70
if you get the 4300K one will be USD$350+ postageUSD$60-70
All i can say with this unit is... there are the best HID in the market. The 5000K do have abit blue tint when you turn it on... but after 10 sec it change to white..... cool effect..
If you want to order one please PM me i will give you his email address... He is a fantastic ebay seller to deal with.
i agree with rescube.....i purchased the Philips 6000K Utilinon kit for US $489 from KWImports about a month ago, shipping was just on Aus $115. I found him on eBay, but he has a site www.kwimports.com. What impressed me with the Philips kits is that theyre actually made my Philips, come in a sealed Philips box n all. Not like those crappy Mr Jung conversion kits where he assembles them in his lounge room.
After recieving a too good to refuse offer on my Jap wrecker sourced OEM HID headlights, im contemplating keeping the kit instead.....and making a healthy profit to boot LOL.
I have yet to fit them on a car, rescube plz post some pics. Im really intersted to c what the beam pattern is like. I need to decide whether to keep or sell my HIDs. Id also like to know where u mounted the ballasts and how u fed all the wiring through.

Regarding the fitting position of the ballasts. I installed it on the front metal bar. ...When you remove your bumper and where the plastic foam sit on the metal bar. I just installed it right on top of the bar. Luckly the cables are long enough for me to adjust the angle.
Thanks rescube, the engine bay didn't look hopefull and being a conversion that might attract the wrong type of "administrative attention" having the electronics well out of the way can be a "good thing". But sir it just came that way......
Finally I got the picture out from my camera... and here is it..
The picture shows the light abit bluer but it look whiter in real life..
enjoy...
ZEXC-33: I think with the 6000K is much bluer color.. and you should keep the Philips HID it looks fantastic...

That looks absolutely fantastic rescube, thanks for the pics.
On Lygon st. tonite i saw this white Honda Civic with these trick looking headlights, purple even pinkish in color. I asked him what they were, and is his broken english he explained they were a Hella HID kit with Philips Utilnon globes. My kit has the same globes, but i dont think i could live with the color......the ground in front was pink and purple. I think 6000k is a bit overkill and will b police bate. I could always change the globes i spose.

Am doing a 6K fitup this weekend. Will snap some pics and post them so we can all compare. The demo 6K fittment I saw ( a falcon ute ) started off with a bluish/purple tint, but the purple seemed to drop away after about 10 seconds. ( opinion )
If nothing else, everyone seems to agree that HID's are the way to go.
Whilst I am in a tinkering mood, I will finish installing my Bosch Park Pilot - reversing alarm system. cost me around $250 and is the aftermarket version of the standard BMW, Merc etc etc system ( its good ). Don't know about you guys, but reversing is a pain.
