Date for next Sydney drive/meet? :)
It would be great to get this car of mine on the highway for once... bloody city driving!
What do you guys in Sydney think about a drive day, we could do Royal National Park (twist'n'bends), Blue Mountains (relaxing) or even go up to the Hunter Valley (wine tasting
)?
Anyway just to get the ball rolling, how does 3/8/03 sound? It's a Sunday!

Now that my car has arrived, I could suggest a run: north from Hornsby (quick coffee at Pie in the Sky) then up to Mt White to then head across to Wisemans Ferry for some lunch. The road is not too bad; just have to watch the entry to the ferry for ground clearance.
I'm in guys.
After Dyno day, KY350 and myself went down through the National Park. He led, I chased. It was fun, but the stone chips were noticeable. I know this because I washed the car the day before and didn't do much driving after that.
I hope we can get a better turnout to these things. I look at the US runs, sure they have more cars, but the best I've been at had a grand total of 4 cars and 1 had to go early.
Anyway Zuffy I'm in at this stage.

Forums seems to be back to normal. We really need to swap details so we can remain in contact if the forum should suffer a fatal problem.
I'd suggest swapping details at the next meet rather than online where they risk being harvested.

Still alive.
I was speaking with a guy in the smash repair industry who advised that we (the public) could go to Wakefield and track our Z's for some fun. He says the cost would be about $50pa for your track licence and about $80 each for the use of the track (no instuctors though). I thought this would be fun and we could drive hard without the threat of loss of licence. Its probably a lot safer around the track too as we would know the track condition (I did the Old Pacific Hwy drive about a month ago and half of the road has been resealed with coarse gravel - high potential for stone chips, under / oversteer). So what do you guys / girls think about Wakefield. If we can get at least 5 people together, I'll ring around and organise it. But it would have to be during a weekday - you probably all need a sickie anyway.

I'd certainly be interested. There are other costs as well depending on options I believe. eg if you want lap timing etc.
EDIT: forgot the most important thing - helmet hire if you don't have your own.
EDIT: the Wakefield Park web site might be useful.

Thanks for the web link Apps. I checked it out and there are numerous car only days that would be ideal.
I also have a mate who owns a 200SX that would be interested in going.
I rang Wakefield and they advised that they allow a maximum of 15 cars on the track at any one time, for a twenty minute session. Your $80 covers as many sessions as you can fit in the day (or your brakes / tyres can tolerate). They recommend that we go during the weekdays if possible, as weekends are very busy. For example, they had 3 cars there today and will have over 100 on the weekend.
Availble weekends are:
Mon 28 Jul, 2003 - which appears to be too short notice.
Sat 02 Aug, 2003 - I'd rather not go on the weekend
Sun 03 Aug, 2003 - I'd rather not go on the weekend
Mon 11 Aug, 2003 - ideal as should give us enough time to organise, so this is my preferred date.
Let me know what you guys think.

Sounds great.
What about doing something late August, maybe last week? The reason I say that is to give time to get a group together and also give the weather a better chance.
Gone to Wakefield a few times and long way to go if the weather is crap.
