I have heard of manufactures using the wrong types of Ti to cut costs. The grade that should be used for exhausts is Grade 1. (I think)
Are you guys getting independant dyno's i.e not from places you didnt buy the exhaust from or any of their associated work shops?
I am sorry but 16 - 21kw gains on a n/a engine just with an exhaust sounds suss! Even Turbo charged cars have trouble getting that much with an exhaust so why would a n/a six.

Chuckie, if you don't want to belive, tell us, why the US Zs in their specs have listed more power then the OZ ones. The major reason behind it is more restrictive exhaust in OZ version. That is why when you go to the US forums you'll see they are getting a lot smaller gains then we do.

Don't look at it as 16 - 21kW, but as a percentage of power. We are starting with 206kW, so 16 - 21kW is really 8 - 10% power incease. Most restricted cars (ie. not the S2000) can gain 5 - 10% power with just exhaust, so why not the Zed?
Even Turbo charged cars have trouble getting that much with an exhaust so why would a n/a six.
Exhaust on a WRX will give you around 10 - 15kW extra. That is 6 - 10% power increase. Well within norm. Though, the most power you can get from a turbo car is via a new chip as that can change your boost levels.

My recommendation is don't belive, and see for yourself. Drive a demo model from a dealer and then ask one of the guys with Hi-tech in Sydney to take you for a spin. That's what i did. I had to see it for myself to believe it. If you were in Melbourne I'd have no problem meeting up with you.
Also for me, dynos do not mean much as they are only an indication of power and not definate answer to it. I'm more interested in outright performance and for me comapring the acceleration of the Zed wbefore and after is what tells me what gains the car made. How do you explain the noticable difference between the pre and post comparisions that I did? The car has more power ... I didn't even need to do the comparision - the engine feels (IMHO) very different withthe exhaust. For me the OE engine is not sporty, with the hi-tech exhaust it very much feels like a sporty engine (and that is not just sound related, but in the way it delivers power). My father was a sceptic as well (like me) ... he drove my car before the exhaust and then after and 1st thing he said is that this does not feel like the car that I bought from the dealer.

Well my Amuse made 15kw@wheels.
Same dyno
Same outside temp
Same dyno mode
and was driven for 2 weeks before the second run. Both in 5th gear.
But like anything else the dyno is there to prove that you have made a positive improvement instead of a negative one like David mentioned.
I reckon my Jap Amuse on a Ethnic dyno would make around a kazillion more sic killaaar watts.
PS: Nothing beats Japanese products. Buy it right the first time.

So any improvement to this flow will let you get rid of the gas quicker, which in return lets you put more air through the system, more air = more power, providing some other part of your intake/exhaust isnt a restricting factor in the equation.
