Default What does this hand gesture mean?

I'm getting a lot of what appears to be compliments on the Z - kids from about 6 years on - they show their fist with the thumb and little finger out. I think it is a compliment but I'm not sure......

A lot of very young kids call out "nice car mister" - I'm supprised they know it - is the Z on any game systems?

Anyway its a lot better than the abuse I used to get with the Mercedes - nobody liked the Merc! The Nissan seems to offend no-one - and everyone seems to like it! I also had a Ford Cougar which attracted a lot of aggro from Holden owners out to prove a point.

I used to be a "surfy" gesture meaning hang loose. Im not sure if it means the same now (how old am I feeling!).

Im sure its meant in a positive way, unless your Z is blue (j/k)

Funny you should mention this, I got the same gesture from a bunch of school kids leaving a school bus in Geelong the other week. I first thought they were abusing me, but I got a closer look at the fingers as I approached and then wasn't so sure.
I think it's positive but who the hell knows with kids. Who really cares to be honest. But if a group of super models in lingerie on the road side give me the same signal I might be forced to stop and question their motives...

I'm going to get a black baseball cap and put it on backwards (to hide the hairline) and lower the seat ......

If they don't get too close i might get away with it!!

I'd rather some 20 yr old bimbo do that to my car... lol

Since I use to work around kids at that age group...it's their way of telling you somethings cool. It's beyond a thumbs up...kinda like telling you to "stay cool and chill" the way you are with your ride.
I have siblings and I won't ever catch them with a thumbs up..that is old school! It's either the thumb and pinky or index and pinky (devil horns!). Just be glad it ain't one finger.

As far as it's "shaka" origins...
In Hawaii they told me it was "hang loose" or "relax"?

I'm think i'm giving this too much thought
