Default Paint Chips

I have a meeting with the Nissan warranty guy next Wednesday regarding the numerous small chips in the paint on the front - wonder how far I will get. If you have similar problems, write a note and I will show it to the guy. Its frustrating because I have hundreds of small chips and it looks bad....especially on a DB

The first thing you need to do it put on 2-3 layers of CrystalGuard imho.

I tried the product after i had a few rocks scratch my car but it's been good ever since. It's not fool proof, it's just another flurine layer over the clear. It needs redoing every 3 months though.

The chips are almost impossible to photograph. At first they look like little bits of dirt on the car then you realise that they are small chips.....and I really haven't left the city while driving

Btw has anyone repaint their cars, because of paint chips yet? I was thinking to repaint my whole bumper, but i'm kinda hesitate because afraid the Body Shop or painter can't match the DB colour because it's a new Colour.

ypwpat ,

Try these links...

http://www.autoanything.com/bras/

http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merch...t_Code=50-1039

The Bra is made by Colgan in the US.

Here is what it looks like. The pic above is plain black and below is Carbon fiber look.

Default Paint Chips

I've got more chips in 10K than the STi had in 70K.
Nissan blame the environmental constraints but my
panel shop says fuggen (thanks H) ********e!

Bra looks worse'n on the missus - and I had one on an
M5 some years ago - and it abraded the paint so bad
that I had to respray anyway !

Just stay back from semis etc and zoom by when you can.

A respray would only be about 6-800 anyway.

Dearer for red.

Here is a link for the local car bra. Cost for the Z is about $350 delivered - fits well but like all these things looks awful. Does cover more of the front end than the US ones though. I only put it on for long drives ...

Thanks for that dixonbn. My intention is only to be put on for a long drive as well. Not forever.

When you order them how long, till it delivered to you?

Saw the Nissan rep today........he trotted out the "environmental conditions" crap......he wasn't interested at all. He says that he has not seen any problems with paint on 350Z. I was not complaining about getting some chips;that is inevitable but rather at how easy the Z chipped. He also said he had not heard any problems with sound system. I suggested he have a look at the web site. I told him that the common problems were common overseas as well. His comment was he couldn't give a sh*t about overseas.
