Default Vortech Group Buy

Just gauging interest if anyone is interested in a group buy on the Vortech Super Charger unit.

I know most of you would rather go turbo and so would I but at this point of my 350z life the SC would be a better option.

What's the story with these. I read about a few blown engines with the ATI. Showed some NASTY pics of blown apart pistons!

Anyway, what's the gains, cost, risk???

The more I read about the 2 SC setups the more i feel they have gone on the cheap to make it marketable.

Greddy is heavily discounting the TT setup. I'm thinking that is a far safer option.

Thats on par with the ATI and Vortech.

With the USD falling that's about 7,216 AUD. Hmmmmm........

Just had a look at some FI threads. The Greddy 'aint ready. (yet).

All sounds a bit too hard - unless you've got tons of cash to blow ( the basic kit would be just a start), loads of know-how, and big ***** to take the risk.

And somehow I don't think my lease guy will be too agreeable anyway.......

You're forgetting shipping, import duty and GST. I'd expect it to land here for about $9500 and that's without an IC, something I'd highly recommend for our conditions.

Before I do anything though. One of the latest Option or Option 2 magazines has a few articles on th Z from the large tuners explaining their kits and performance.

I think it has a orange coloured car on it. So if anyone has it please post info

Don't forget some of the Turbo kits are piped for the US cars so be sure they'll fit our Aussie cars. Most of the S/C kit will fit our cars here, which makes them more attractive.
I like the look's of of the DreamWorks S/C which uses an Eaton blower and does'nt need a new bonnet/hood plus it will be CARB certified using 5.5psi.

MR RIZK

I'm interested but I think it's to early yet? I'll wait 3/6 months and see what problems the Vortech systems develops if any.

Agreed on that one... There are still issues that haven't been satisfactorily explained by ATI or Vortech.

Since we are a bit further from the US we should consider asking CAPA to import the kit and do a group buy from them. At least we would have some customer protection if they tune it poorly.

Most of their kits go for 8-9 grand so i expect that it would be no different for our car.

Will they fit the Aussie spec cars, aren't they designed for the US cars (lefthand drive) ?

I'm willing to accept a free kit to test the fit on the RHD cars. (Hey if you don't ask you don't know).

EDIT: I hadn't read Adams other post when I typed this LOL.
