Maybe the suspension setup takes time to wear in and once everything has been beaten to death for 10thou kms it starts to sit incorrectly.

The only thing i can think of is to do a regular wheel alignment.

hmm, I guess I've spoked too soon. On friday I've drove from sydney to gold coast. The next day (saturday) I've noticed a loud roar while coming to a stop, it wasn't there on thursday.

I've checked the tires by running my hands over them and it was sooth one way and not the other way, and the blocks were uneven. So I've tire feathering as well, it had 17950km when I've noticed it.

Makes me wonder how do you guys with this problem drive your cars. I'm quiet easy on my Z, but some times I push it very hard, but it's not very often.

Very soon I'm going to get my car serviced by Peter, so I'm going get him to take a closer look at the tires.

Now I might have to change my upgrade from Hi-tech cat back exhaust, to new wheels and tires.

Damn

Evidently there's something about the Z's front wheels toeing out at speed.

Hence, there's more problems for car's doing the k's like me - 160 a day on the expressway.

But hang on - it's all a "figment of our imagination or we must have hit a bump" according to Nisshit!

FUGG'EM!

I checked my tyres again on sat and noticed that the outside blocks are begining to show some fine cracks in them. The cracks look like the pattern of the veins of a leaf if you held it up in the sun. Is that what feathering is? Wear however seems to be even across the tyre contact area.
Also, of late I have been listening to the tyre noise which seems to have increased. I listen for the tyre roar when the car is cruising on a slight downhill section and I don't have to apply any throttle. Tyre noise seems to be loader than I can previously remember. Don't know if i'm being paranoid though. Can others with tyre feathering problems please describe the appearance of the blocks on their tyres.

So it's primarily people who do a lot of highway driving?

This website explains how to check for it: http://www.lasercannon.com/Newz/feathering.htm

On my car the noise is worst around 35-40km/h, it gets even worse when breaking. Did any one see nissan about it? I'm not sure if I even should waste my time with them.

If you upgrade your suspension should this problem never appear?

Thanks for the link Nuff.
I don't have feathering as described by that link.
Tyre wear is even across the contact area, with 17,500km.

Thanks again
