Default APS Cat Back Exhaust Video/Sound Clips

Hi Guys,

A couple of videos have been uploaded onto the APS web site that demonstrates the exhaust note of the APS High Output Cat Back Exhaust System both with and without test pipes.

There are also a couple of rear end pictures of the Z with the APS exhaust - more comprehensive pictures and technical information of the entire cat-back system and optional test pipes to come soon.

http://www.**************/350z/exhaust/exhaust.htm

Hope you enjoy!

George

I've to say that I like what I see and I'm going to wait with my purchasing decision until your exhaust comes out. But it still makes me wonder what it's going to sounds like on a NA 350z. Hopefully it's not going to be too loud so it gives me room to upgrade headers and cats.

Also, have you got any plans to make cats?

Thanks Mate, it's great to know that you feel the cat back system looks promising. I believe we will sell hundreds of this cat back system in the states which will make the system more cost effective for APS's Australian customers, at least I hope this will prove to be the case.

Yeah the Z in the video is a US spec car (though the video was made at APS ) this is how we conduct all product development at APS.

APS orders the test car from the states and then the car is shipped to APS's facility in Melbourne for all R and D work.

We also own a RHD Z for other testing and verification purposes.

I am sure we will design a set of high flow cats to suit the Z, we are nearly finished the TT project, then we can concentrate all of our development time to finishing the N/A products.

I think you guys will also be impressed with the new APS high flow plenum and cold air intake we have currently in product development.

If all goes to plan we will have plentyof new pics and information on the APS web site next week.

Neither, it will be produced from a gravity dye casting process (cast in light weight aluminium) this method allows for the optimum shape and flow parameters.

Hey Peter,

You might have some competition with this intake plenum, kinetix racing has been developing an aluminum plenum as well. Do you have a timeframe as when this might be available for sale?

Peter, also the most important question, will we be able to use the stock strut with it or not?

Does the TT require the removal of the strut bar?

Will be before the end of 04 and I am sure there will be stiff competition between the larger and more professional aftermarket tuners, this will of course benefit all 350Z owners.

Mate too early to say for sure, I suspect that the stock strut brace won't fit with the larger intake plenum, will let you know when we are 100% certain.

The stock Nissan 350Z strut brace will suit/fit with the TT system installed, will have more detailed under bonnet on the web site next week.

I have been driving the Z with the APS TT installed for the last few weeks and the power from low down in the rpm range is awesome, had a race with a supercharged 5.7 LS1 monaro last night, and it was real close up to 100 mph (160 kph) where the TT started to pull away by 4 to 5 car lengths.

I was very surprised by the big Monaro until we both pulled over for a chat, the Monaro had 420kW at the treads so no wonder I struggled to pull away. Suffice to say he was very surprised to be hosed off by the Z, first time he has ever been passed in a one on one run.

Every thing is possible for the future, our current plan is to produce a high quality TIG welded 304 stainless steel cat back system, though if there is sufficient consumer demand (world wide) we may consider producing a Ti system.

I'm very impressed Peter. What sort of power are you seeing on the Z now and how far off the current model will be the actual TT set up be in terms of power?
Sounds like your set up will provide good torque down low, which I like for daily driving.

Mate I will post detailed torque and power graphs on the APS web site before the end of June, I can't say too much now though lets just say the power was on the happy side of 300kW's (402 hp) at the treads.

It's the torque in the low to mid RPM range that simply amazes me every time I drive the APS TT 350Z car.

All you need is 1600 RPM on the tacho and just squeeze on the loud pedal a little, the engine responds instantly.

It's just magic to drive, nearly and I mean nearly, as much fun as my TT 996 Porsche.

I can see the exhaust tips are straight but do they have a angled cut at the end of them like the OEM and HiTech ones do? I think they are angled a bit but it looks like the angle is smaller than OEM.

I think this is what makes the stock and HT ones look so good.

And are they the same size as the OEM or are the tips smaller.
