The gearbox is fixed
I just got the car back. Feels tight in the gears but good. steering doesn't feel right but that may be me. The parts - fifth gear - looked as though there was some rust where the syncro gear sits - and that could have caused the syncro to wear.
I'm going to change how I drive. In particular I'm going to use the brakes more and the gears less. Brakes cost a lot less than gearboxes. Fifth is a problem as 6th is too tall for town driving and I will try not to use 6th as much.

Yes it is a bit too stiff- what worries me is if they need to wear in - what happens to all that crap in the oil? I think I will ask them to change the oil after 500 kms or so.
