Default Replacement Wheels

I've got a 350Z on order with delivery mid-August.

Am looking to replace the wheels with 19X8.5 (245 35 19)on the front and 19X9.5 (275 35 19) on the rear. Does anyone know off the top of their head what the standard offset is as this is obviously crucial to avoid rubbing and to stay within the law (Queensland)?

Any comments on possible problems or issues would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi and welcome.
All model of wheels have different offset.

example: i know the Volk racing TE37 19x8.5 +22 19x9.5 +22
THis will clear the bigger brembo brakes.

Also you haven't tells us what model you get
Is it Track or Touring?

because Track and Touring need a Different offset.

Cheers

Becareful with this, as the US guys dont mind rolling the guards and most of them have with the offsets they run. The guys who I got my wheels through here wouldnt get 22+ in the rear because Rays/Volk in Japan came back and said it might rub. Im using +34 in the rear. I am a touring model but im not sure this matters if were talking about distances that can push the wheel out under/past the guard.

I would call Paul Donnellan and he can contact Japan and get the right offset for you.

Looks like they've updated their website.

Many thanks

I'm getting the Touring model (trade off between individualising the car and Brembo brakes).

Essentially I am looking at 22 offset given that this seems to be what a lot of the Americans are using, presumably without fouling problems. One of my concerns is that, in Queensland, you can't narrow the track by even one mm (widen by up to 25mm is OK) so I need to identify the standard offset. Nissan dealer couldn't tell me so I may need to read off the inside of one of their wheels!

The actual wheel I get is still up in the air as so few seem to offer the sizes that I am chasing - I'd be lost without the "Web"!

Thanks again and cheers

Thanks for your response.

I've relied heavily on Donnellans and this website to identify appropriate wheels (it's also much to do about the look isn't it!!) and to determine which way to go as regards sizes. I will contact Paul as you suggest.

Again, thanks.

Coatsie - just a quick reply- I had the front wheels off last week to put 15 mm spacers on and noticed that the rims were stamped 30 or 33 offset. TRACK.

Could have a look if important, but not 'till Monday.

BTW, the 15mm spacers to front - plenty of room and improved steer response.

Frozty - Thanks. Don't take your wheels off, as I'll ask the dealer to do it instead, after all, he's getting the deal!

With your info the +22s are looking pretty good as they won't be as far inside the tub and may negate the need for the spacers you mention.

Thanks for your useful comments and offer.

Cheers

COATZIE -

Go to http://toy4two.home.mindspring.com/offset.html

for a handy wheel offset calculator.

Tip - add 15 for front, 25 for rear.

Many thanks. Did the calcs and after measuring up against a car it looks like +22 should be OK.

If you're in Brisbane or GC, I'd recommend Chris Neale at Wheel Revolution in Slacks Creek - 07 3209 2833 or 0418 403 125.

I got my Volk GT-7's through Chris, and found him to be the most knowledgeable and the cheapest.

Before getting my wheels I spoke with most of the big supposed wheel "specialists" in Sydney and they all just wanted to sell whatever they had as bulk buy specials, and most recommended tyre sizes that turned out to be wrong.

Thats probabally because they couldnt get them. None of the Sydney guys I spoke to could get real Volks.

I went through Donnellans in Victoria for my GTC's.

I live on the Sunshine Coast so Chris Neale would be fairly convenient.
I'm looking for Volk LE37Ts or Buddy Club P1 Racing IIs which seem to be the only real options for the sizes I want. Enkei may also now make their RP03 in an 8 1/2 and 9 1/2 so it could be an option. I'll talk to Chris Neale as you suggest.
Many thanks

Thanks. I was speaking to Donnellan's on the weekend, but they suggested that I call back through the week as the fellow I was talking to didn't know too much about Volk.
They certainly seem to have a wide selection (Volk and Buddy Club included which I am looking at) so will talk to them.
Thanks
