Thanks

All the other plenums are in the US and we order all our other mods from the US or Japan so the US price will be fine.

Guys read the US thread.
The price is 395 USD plus a new strut bar. Depending if they manufacture in the US it'll be pretty expensive by the time it gets here unless we get a one-off bulk group buy.
Maybe APS will expect some interest in OZ and do us all a favour.

APS,
I am totally aware of this but there is nothing stopping us from ordering from the US, every other mod most people have on their cars are from the USA or from Japan. Also by knowing the US price we can compare it to the other US plenums that are on the market. I realise the prices are preliminary and will take with a grain of salt but if you have the numbers and posted them elsewhere I dont think you needed to with hold them.
Zuff,
Thanks.

No worries and your right...............there is nothing stopping people importing the part from the US..............though these prices would be plus freight, import duty and GST...... this is all I am trying to get across.
Thanks
Peter
I agree.
I'm also sick of companies that feel we should pay more for exactly the same product just because we're a smaller market. The product doesn't cost anymore to make. Sure we have to pay GST and perhaps a shipping fee but in most cases it's that and a chunk more just for the hell of it.
Not having a go at APS directly but rather the way the whole economy is going. It's at a point where I have a shipment coming from the US on a weekly basis. eg I just bought a watch that was delivered in 3 days for less than half the cheapest price I could find locally. So much for buy Australian and support Australian businesses.

The same as every other item we purchase from overseas. i.e 99% of mods.

And it's going to get worse yet.............make sure you have a good import broker.

I previously worked in sales for a very large Multinational company (listed on the US and Euro exchanges) and sold medical equipment.
In Australia, we sold an item for approx AUD1.2M. This identical item was sold in the US for USD1.0M. With the exchange rate at AUD 1.00 = USD 0.50, the Americans were paying $2M Australian dollar equivalent for the same item.
So the factory supplying the medical devices made much more profit selling in the US than here. Also, the US accounted for 50%+ of the worldwide market and Aust accounted for about 1% of the worldwide market. So we were flysh!t in comparison to the US sales but our customers payed almost half the price of their US counterparts.
Why?
Because the market in the US would tolerate those high prices and the Aussie market would not.
So the parent company sold to maximise profit.
The same applies with all companies - sell for maximum profit.
But in this millenium, and with the advent of e-marketing / sales, consumers are no longer restricted to buying from within their local suburb / town / city / state or even country, where they have to pay the higher prices demanded by sellers. We can now search the world for commodities and pay cheaper prices.
We all want APS Aust to succeed in business, but please ensure your prices are reasonable, and not just in comparison to your direct local competitors but in comparison to suppliers overseas. If the product can be purchased cheaper overseas by end consumers, then your company will missout on sales.
Reasonable pricing permitting, I do prefer to buy locally.

I agree with Ky as well, I'd prefer to buy here but not when I have to pay more for the same item.

Bottom line APS aims to produce very high quality products and not all products are designed and manufactured to the same high level of engineering or performance, this obiviously impacts on the sale price of the product..............consumers will either purchase a particular product or not depending on their viewpoint, the product in most consumers eyes must deliver good value for money, high performance, and exceptional quality.............APS aspires to excell in all 3 of these areas.
I can assure you we will do all in our power to release APS 350 Z products onto the OZ market at the best posible price (That's if we decide to release all 350Z products in australia and that the decision has not beeen made) though please remember to compare apples to apples not apples to oranges.
It does cost more to support a small market with a low volume product so if potential customers want good customer and technical service support, products would be at a slightly higher price in Australia............part of this higher price is also related to the GST.
Thanks
