KY350 -

No, don't need to fill or change anything.
Everything can be returned to standard in 2-minutes.
Uses existing screws and plastic plugs that are in the holes as anchors.

Need to buy the very easy to obtain slimline plate covers.
With the plexiglass cover are two pieces of aluminium that are drilled and are the retaing clips to clamp over the plate and cover to retain same. These two aluminium strips are shaped to bend over top and bottom of the plate/cover.

They need a drill hole thru them at a place that lines up with the holes in the bodywork and positions the plate vertically where you want it to sit. (The holes only need to be big enough for the screws to go thru.)

That's it - screw the alu. strips to the old holes/anchors - slip the plate and cover into place - push down the tabs top and bottom and that's it!

Yes - did put a bit of a curve into the plate, but not really necessary.

I've already got a slimline perspex cover for the plates. Although from memory, there was no aluminium plate holder.

I bought my slimline plate cover from Supercheap and the perspex is secured to the no. plate by the use of 4 plastic clips.

So it sounds as though there is no drilling involved in my particular case, just screw into existing holes in the bumper.

Will give it a go on the weekend if I get time and if I don't like it, I can return it to standard fairly simply.

Thanks for the advice.

Frosty. Seeing as it looks like you like fiddling with photoshop can you do me a favour and re-do the photo of your front number plate with a black background and white writing? I'm really warming to your mount and am looking at getting some slime-line plates, just trying to decide whether to go white or black.

Thx in anticipation!

How's this look?
No drilling/filling/painting.
10 minutes and you're away.
Don't like it - 10 mins and it's back to standard.

FYI this wont work for narrow width plates, as the plate isnt wide enough to cover the wholes.

Not so, Murray.

Can't see what you're driving at.

My plates ARE slimline - the holes are only tiny!

Thx Frosty.

I couldn't get the plates I wanted in black background white writing so ended up going with black on white.

Whitey, I was after either ZZ 33 WA or ZZ 03 WA - both gone :-(

I must admit that if you don't get your bumper holes filled that Frosty's option is the best I've seen - If you end up getting your holes filled let me know and I'll show you a good way to mount your plate using the towing hook - I think HarryW has his mounted using this method.
