I went this past weekend to the Buccaneer Region SCCA year end awards. While I finished 2 in PAX for the year, I was suprised when they called my name out for the Solo II driver of the year!

Congratulations, Mike!
I finished 14th PAX for the year at the ODR-SCCA Region.
In my local car club, Tidewater Z Car Club, I was awarded a 2nd Place plaque out of 7 club autocrossers who participated in all events, and I was awarded a plaque for Most Improved Driver for 2004 in our club.

Placed 1st in B-stock SCCA Region 11, Placed 2nd behind a S2000 at Gulfcoast autocrossers and did lousy at Nat's this year. Koni's were giving me fits like the hurricane and the spouse. I hope to see a bunch of you this year at SE Divisionals, Solo Nats and Topeka, however, it appears that most of you run SM2 or possibly BSP.

I won the overall 'A' class championship in the Ottawa region. Our series (turn-out is typically 30-50) took place over 9 events of which I FTD'd two of them. Our local 'A' class includes all higher A-C classed cars and some lower classes which have extensive upgrades (ie: SP or Mod).
Other achievements this year are:
I won an Ontario Regional B Super Stock class (easy as I was the only one) but more importantly I came with a few tenths of winning the whole thing on Pax (got 99.697 points) and was 2.1 seconds off the pace of the overall C-Mod winner.
Near the end of the summer at a local event I came within 1.2 seconds of a quick Montreal driver, Carl Wener who a couple weeks later came 7th at the Topeka SCCA champions - only 2/10 ths behind Mark Daddio (GRM Mini) and 1.2 seconds off the D stock champion.
The thing I'm most proud of is that all of my results were on Kumho MX street tires (and relatively narrow 245s). This was also my first summer with the car and 6+ years away from any Solo action.
Congrats to the rest of you guys. Good to see other 350s making the podium.

Wespak - Yes it is, the one and only. We need to hook up next year and run your Z w/ TT in SM2 and my Hoosier's. That would be real fun. That is the only way the 350 would even come close to winning SM2 on the local level. Nationally, we would not have a chance only ulness no one else showed up.
