Well, I hope the picture(s) upload correctly. The tubeframe 350Z project is proceeding and this picture shows the engine bay with the SR20DE installed and awaiting fabrication of a custom intake manifold, plenum, sealed airbox and 29.5 mm air restrictor (per the latest SCCA specs in GT3 for this engine). Some may wonder why I didn't opt for dropping in a VQ, but current GT2 specs would call for a very expensive engine that would overwhelm the Quaife 5 speed 'box and Speedway quickchange rear end that was part of my original purchase. The SR20 is a bit more affordable and offers the opportunity to develop it for SCCA GT racing.
This car is a rebody of an existing tubeframe car that ran as a Toyota back in 2000-2001. Excellent design and components- note the trianglization of the cage and front subframe assembly. The body and lexan windshield is available from Nissan Motorsports and I was fortunate to employ the original designer to do the custom installation and rebody work. Problem is, I'm running out of time and money to complete it before the opening of our National season here in Rocky Mountain Division. There is a LOT left to do- guess that's what makes it all so FUN!

Sorry guys- I thought the JPEGs loaded properly. But they may be too big for the attachments and I'll need to look for another site to host them. I'll keep trying.

The only functional lights on this 350Z will be rain and brake lights at the rear. Thinking of adapting some LEDs in the OEM taillights.
Looks great!! I envy you with this car......wish I had one or could get to drive one. Anyway, let us Cali guys know when you head our way, it would be great to meet you and look at the car.....maybe go for a few hot laps

Thanks for the comments, guys. Right now the list of issues to complete includes: dry sumping the SR20DE including fabricating a new oil pan, mount, pickup points and belts and pullies. A new intake plenum will be needed due to interference from the RF support in the engine bay. May be looking at individual runners and throttle bodies for each cylinder. SCCA has mandated a 29.5 mm SIP (air restrictor) to use on this engine and a custom, sealed airbox is required. Od course, a custom header and muffler system is in the works and may exit off the driver's side of the car.
Those are the main hurdles. Of course, the car will need upgrading of the fuel pumps due to fuel injection needs, wiring, plumbing and a rework of the cockpit before I can actually DRIVE it effectively. Whew! Have I pegged the fun meter yet?
