Default Cake and eat it too!!!

Alright I know this is somewhat off topic for the autoX/Road forum but I fealt the need to let you guys know. I am an audiophile by heart and as most of you know big stereo sound comes with big stereo weight. But not anymore. I have speant the last week with my installer Kenny Strzepcka and Lucio Proni (JL Audio) coming up with a system that provides show qaulity Sound Q and has low end response all while staying under 27lbs. Thats in total wires, woofer, amps, and enclosure. I have 800 watts of clean power and am only 14lbs heavier than the stock track system which I blew in the first week of owning. All of this while also only drawing 25amps of current which cuts down on energy used by the alternator. I'll post pics if anyone is interested and I don't get flamed for talking about this. I just thought it interesting that you don't have to give EVERYTHING up to be competitively light enough.

Default That's cool and all

But how do you get 800 watts out of 25 amps? By my math, even 14v*25A = 350W. (and that's assuming 100% efficincy from the amplifiers) Not to start a war, i'm just constantly annoyed claims of massive power output from car audio systems because an amplifier has XX000 Watts stamped on it.

thats my bad I was misinformed on the numbers for wattage. The amplifiers are 90% efficient and they are 250x1 and a 75x4. So thats 550 total watts. I am 100% sure they draw 25amps as I saw the reading on the computer. Also this measure is at a range from 11 to 16 volts so I would assume that these are peak numbers. http://www.altomobile.com/index.shtml

Also keep in mind that these are class D amplifiers not regular A or B amps. They each weigh in at less than 3 pounds.

That sounds interesting. I would like to see pics. I have built a show quality system that I can fully remove the amp, amp rack, subs, and boxes in under 5 minutes with a screw driver and some allen wrenches. The only problem is that the boxes slide around pretty easily and because of that, have had to be painted twice already. I have posted a pic below.
