I'm curious also as to how the installation goes. I have the NISMO thermostat to install, also. All good things for the upcoming hot hot weather. I guess I could look on my Nissan CD. I'll look and then post here.

I'm very interested in the same question as well.

I looked in my ESM and couldn't find anything. All I could find is the power steering pump and mechanical components. Anyone else have the manual that knows where to look? I was just assuming that it would be under power steering.

I looked at the service manual as well and couldn't find anything. I guess someone will have to tell us what the install is like. I assume the new cooler comes with directions for install.

You have to reuse the original mounting hardware, plus one nut that comes with the Nismo cooler.

A template is supplied to drill a new mounting hole.

It is necessary to remove the front bumper (and any shin spoiler also).

I'll do mine soon, and take pictures

If you don't have the $2k to spend on a big brake kit right away, you might just consider trying some some dedicated track pads. A set of R4 pads from porterfield would cost you around $200 (with your 15% nasa discount). You might be able to get away with that until you go with r-compounds.
I would definatly cut away your dust shields on both the front and rear brakes to allow for more cooling. This is why your inside pad wore faster than your outside. When you go with a bbk down the road you will have to do this anyways. Directions for this can be found on stoptech's 350z big brake kit install instruction manual.

I still have no idea why I haven't had any problems with the power steering fluid. Not that I'm complaining. I do seem to be having knockback more than others though. After commuting this week, I have perfected the left foot brake pump up action so I will be more ready for it next time I'm on track.
I mostly agree with daveh here. #1, cut the dust shields off. as he said, that is why the inside pad is wearing worse than the outside. #2, if you plan on continuing to do track days, start budgeting for a BBK, at least for the front. i lasted exactly two track days with oem calipers/rotors. first with oem pads (i think), then with hawk blues (no messing around, full on race pad). while the blues survived the day mostly intact (some crumbling), it demolished my rotors - and i can assure you, it was not because they weren't hot enough (a common problem for the blues). the stoptech 13" kit seems to be performing acceptably for me using pagid blacks, although i think i need to add ducting to give me the headroom to go to R-compounds - i'm still running azenis. i'm still running oem (non-track) rear brakes (calipers/rotors, but was using Hawk HPS, have Axxis ultimates in hand for next track day), and will probably continue to do so because the pads are so inexpensive - tough to justify another 2k for the rears.

regarding the PS cooler, again, i ditto daveh's experience. i haven't had any issues so far, but i'm not going to be surprised if i do. the nismo cooler is inexpensive, and those who've had problems indicate that it solves the problem.

course, my real question is how is the car going to hold up when i bolt on the APS ST i ordered

ahm
