bj raced very very well...i took a bunch of pictures and will load them up as soon as i can.

the performace nissan/unitech team also did very well. they were in third place for the last 20 minutes or so, then i went to get food toward the end of the race then they ended in 40th place...something must have happened that i missed.

all in all...very hot and humid weekend!! saw only two Zs including mine

Default Dumb queston.

Looked at the rules of the grand am cup "GS" class. Why does ford get to use a non-production engine/block ( 5.0 dohc "cammer" crate engine) that has 440 hp, while everyone else is using a production block and bore? I thought you had to use what you sell, but obviously I must be wrong.

Sorry for the "me too" post but I can't help it.

This is a great series to watch. Go for all three days if you can swing it. I did the full weekend at Laguna Seca and man, what a show. We had two 350's in the Grand-Am race on Staurday night (Performance Nissan Racing). Both were very fast but ended early due to some track damage. The competitive Mini's are fun as hell to watch too, mixing it up with the RX-8's and the like.

As for the Rolex Race. Man, what a blast. There was an article on the series in Car and Driver last month. They basically said that if they changed the aero on the cars, they could push 230 MPH. I believe it. The sound of the 50+ cars on the track coming by at full tilt is mind-blowing. Bring earplugs (but listen to it one time around without )

Rumor has it that Unitech Racing is working on a 350Z for the GT class. I cannot WAIT to see that. Look out Porsche...here we come.

Kyle

How come I only saw GT3s, GTOs, BMWs in the mixed racing with the prototypes? I was wondering where the Stangs, Mazda's and 350zs were! I see Speed Channel has Grand Am only listed racing events coming up. Will those have all the GA cars in them?
