HPDE Insurance
I've been with Erie Insurance Group since I started driving, more than 30 years ago (OMG!) and since getting the Z I've called my broker every year to make sure that track activities are not excluded. They say I'm covered.
And the prices are very reasonable, although that's partly because I work at home and don't commute, and because I've been with them so long and have filed very few claims. I pay about $1,000 a year for the Z and my 2000 Accord.
So before going with specialty coverage, you might want to check the standard policies of various other companies.

Thanks for the link, fahrenheit350.
The link in that thread to a different thread about USAA was very informative: a WRX driver who had been with USAA for 20 years (with no tickets and no claims!) simply asked a rep whether HPDE activities were covered, and USAA refused to renew his policy! This even though he had supplemental insurance that covered him on track!
Another poster reports similar treatment by Amica. No claims, no incidents, they just drop you for asking the question!
F**king insurance companies!
So it looks like my practice of asking my agent whether I'm covered was not such a good idea. I may have been lucky up till now, but I guess I won't be asking again.
If you live in California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Washington, or Wisconsin you can get supplemental track insurance from American Collectors Insurance for about 1.5% of the insured value of the car per year: e.g. $450/year for a $30,000 car. You also have to meet the following conditions:
Although I'm not looking into it now, that garage requirement would cut me out, unfortunately.
