Yes. I put a new flange in to attach them slightly higher.

I have another question. Splitters that extend past the furthest point forward of the bumper are illegal, but an aftermarket fiberglass or carbon lip is ok, even if it extends out past the bumper?
I understand they can't protrude into the wheel wells.

Nothing can extend past the farthest point of the front bumper....unless it is a factory item. Example, the big as front splitter that the LTW E36 M3 has or the Nismo V3 front bumper (which is legal).

In the interest of sparking more sharing here is my set-up. So far as I know...only Michael Bright and I have cars ready (for the most part) to go. I'm finishing up some things for the Dixie Tour in a few weeks.

Set-up as it will be for Dixie:

Suspension:
Motons with 900/750 hypercoils (Hopefully they are here....if not I'll be on my Truechoice double koni's)
Factory A-arms with offset bushings
Hotchkis front bar (full stiff)
SPL Endlinks
No rear sway
Alignment...info to come

Engine:
Pop Charger w/80mm velocity stack
Samco Intake tube
Z1auto 3" MAF
MD 5/16" Spacer
UR Crank Pulley
Z1 2.5" Test Pipes
TurboXS Y-Pipe & Exhaust (only weighs about 19lbs...too my surprise)
Tomei V2 Headers
Tuned Osiris/Uprev by Hills Garage
Will be converted to E85 once we get summer blend in MD (June)

Drivetrain:
Cusco RS at 80% lock
OS Giken Super Single w/Aluminum Pressure Plate (Pretty light....~25lbs for the whole assembly with flywheel)

Brakes: Too my understanding, what I have on my car is legal per 15.6 of the 2012 SP rules:
Stoptech 332mm front BBK (2 piece rotors) and stock rear non brembos
Stoptech lines
Stoptech pads

Wheels/Tires:
ARP Studs
18x10.5 +15 RPF1's
315/30 Hoosier A6's (hoping to have 315's for Dixie...if not I have a set of sticker 285's)
Will be upgrading at some point in the year to 18x11.5's or 18x12's.

Aero:
Work in progress, but won't be on for Dixie.

Weight:
2935 w/no AC or Radio....hoping to get that below 2900 before Nationals.

Care to share anyone else?

Impressive weght reduction, how much are Amuse carbon fenders and doors

Your right to pull the Truechoice, they would not revalve well to spring rates that high.

Where did you source the offest bushings on the upper A-arms?

No rear sway seams like a odd solution, I take it that traction out of the hole has been a issue.

Never seen or heard of anyone running 315's at all 4, hope that works out.

Hippie also runs 315's...

The offset bushings are one from the batch that betamotorsports made.

No problem. i'll try to get a couple this weekend.

BTW You inspired me to pull the AC. Once it's out I'll get my car on scales again (been a couple years) and post up my weight. It should be between 2900-2940.

I've been wondering about using the Nismo nose and splitter via the update/backdate rules, but I have a couple questions/concerns....
15.1 The updating and/or backdating of engines, transmissions,
transaxles, and/or unibodies must be done as a unit; component
parts and specifications of these units may not be interchanged.

Does this precedent mean we would have to convert the nose, tail and side skirts to Nismo as a package? If we can only change the nose would we have to use the Nismo bumper, mounts, filler panels, etc.?
Also, 15.2 The intent of this allowance is to accommodate
commonly available appearance kits, and replicas thereof
Does this allow us to use aftermarket copies as the factory Nismo parts are expensive?

I talked with Lee Piccione (on the ****). I'll have to ask again about reps, but the front bumper, rear bumper, and wing are separate entities. As such...you can replace one (as a whole) without the other two. The front bumper is 2 parts...the bumper cover and the diffuser. It's about 1200 for the pair of them (plus paint) for the real deal.

He has the same kind of deal for his BSP M3. He has a bunch of the LTW M3 parts..aluminum doors, etc on his car, but not others.

I'm going to corner balance the car next Tuesday before putting it on the trailer, but I am hoping with a little under an 1/8th of tank the car is 2910ish after this weekend.

Oh I didn't know Hippie ran that size.

Thought the bushings might be from John, just wondered if a new source had popped up.

I thought you had to be on coilovers to corner balance a car?

thanks for the info 03threefiftyz, I assume if I can find one, this would be legal too? Nismo S-tune lip/ chin spoiler, part number 96010-RNZ30.
Oh, and either the bumper or the lip can be a replica?

No, only the the U.S. Nismo V3 (the entire bumper and undertray/splitter is legal I believe).

What about 335s in the rear? Anyone tried it? Overkill? I think it would be an easier task than fitting 315s up front.

I wouldn't think it would be too tough. It's more difficult to get a 315 in front than 335 in the rear IMO.

At some point though there will be diminishing returns because there won't be enough weight to make a uniform contact patch.

These are not the best pics, but you can see where I attached the original flange and fender liner.

BSP also, cut and paste Mod's list from my 'garage'. After I get my diff (next few weeks), next big purchase will be comp. coilovers and then I can corner balance the car. I also haven't done too much in the way of reducing weight. I may focus on that at a later point. I play around on track days as well.
