I run BSP:
2003 Track
Stance GR+ coilovers
NISMO 1.5 way
Central20 3.9 FD
Borla TD exhaust
Md 5/16 plenum spacer
Helix test pipes
Ferodo DS2500 pads
Stoptech slotted rotors
MB Weapons 17x9 255/40 Kumho Victoracers
Cusco A-arms sitting in my room, probably going to put them on this weekend. (I know they aren't BSP legal but they should change the rule)

here's what the '08 SCCA rules say:
Q. Limited slip differentials are permitted. This permits locked differentials,
either by design, welding, or mechanical means. Differential
cases, internal differential parts, and axle stubs may be
machined as required for clearance and installation to the extent
that material may only be removed, not added, and the exterior
of the case may not be altered in any way. This machining may
serve no other purpose.
doesn't seem to allow a different final gear

thanks for the extra info
I joined SCCA last year and have been reading the Sports Car magazine...it's been fun to see your articles and to even see Beta Motorsports (the Miata build up for ITA) - it's great to have ppl on this forum who know what they're talking about - thanks!!

Having read some of the comments here, I am posting several of the mods that I have that are worthy of review to make sure I am in the correct Class. I am currently in BSP but I may get bumped to SM2 based on some of the previous comments. I wouldn't mind moving to SM2 anyway since I have been contemplating on installing a BBK and the SPL adjustable front camber arms.
ENGINE / POWERTRAIN:
* JWT Popcharger
* MOTORDYNE 5/16" Plenum Spacer
* Final Drive Swap 3.3->3.5
* ECU Reflash
EXHAUST:
* INJEN SUPER SES True Dual Exhaust System
* MAGNAFLOW Tru-X Perforated Core Muffler
* MEGAN RACING Headers & Resonated Test Pipes
SUSPENSION / HANDLING:
* GTSPEC Braces
--- Front Lower Brace
--- Mid-Chassis Reinforcement Brace
--- Rear Lower Brace
--- Rear Lateral Arm Brace
* H&R Wheel Spacers - 20mm/25mm
* KONI Yellow Adjustable Sport Dampers
* PROGRESS TECH Front & Rear Sway Bars
* Shaved Rear Spring Mounts [ 1/2" ]
* SPC Performance Rear Camber Arm & Toe Bolt Kit
* SPL Front & Rear End Links
* STOP TECH Braided Stainless Steel Brake Lines
* TANABE Sustec Under Brace
* TOM MOTORSPORT Adjustable Lowering Springs
Please let me know specifically what would bump me to SM2. Is there another class besides SM2 where my mods will be legal? I just want an open class where I don't have to worry about what kind of mods I install on my Z.

You could always go to XP. The rules are pretty simple. You meet the minimum weight easily and that's the most restrictive of all it's rules. There aren't a lot of people moving to this class yet.
b. Minimum Weight Calculations
All listed weights are without driver. All weights are calculated
based on displacement as listed per Appendix A, 10.a. For example:
weight for a 1837cc RWD car is 1200 + (1.837*200) =
1567#
RWD: 1200 lbs + 200 lbs/liter
FWD: 1200 lbs + 150 lbs/liter
AWD: 1200 lbs + 250 lbs/liter
- Cars with engine located behind driver: +20 lbs/liter
- Cars equipped with traction/stability control: +50 lbs/liter
- Cars equipped with active/reactive suspension: +100 lbs
- Cars equipped with ABS: +50 lbs.

The extra chassis bracing (beyond the factory strut tower braces) will move you into SM2, if you're lucky. It will most likely move you into X Prepared or E Modified category depending on how the bracing is designed and installed.
Most regions have a local "run whatchya brung" class. In the San Francisco region its called OSP, in the SoCal region is called CSM. Check with your local region and see what they offer.

I would really like to see both Nissan and Toyota get back in to grass roots racing.... Hurry up and wait.
btw that lawn is in a common area and the HOA has to cut it.
