Just wanted to clarify a couple of points I've seen here. I've been running a BSP Z for a couple years now (no where near competitive yet, the drivers need to improve).
1) you can't just upgrade to the brembo system from the track Z. This comes from the B Stock rules (which are the base rules for BSP, with only a few exceptions). You can only do this if you take the entire car to Track spec, ie- install the VDC (if that's even possible), etc. Otherwise, you're not allowed to change disc diameter. And the rules make no mention of a caliper change, although I'm not sure whether the Brembo system utilizes a significantly different caliper. Basically, if you go to a BBK system, welcome to SM2...welcome to my world.
2) The real threat in BSP, at least in a national Pro Solo format is the STi's and Evos. With all wheel drive and forced induction that can easily be cranked up to 400 horsepower within the rules, I think a Z would be hard pressed to compete at a national level. I would go so far as to think it impossible, as sad as I am to say that. The rules need to change

Ahh, the dreaded AWD cars. All of the disadvantages of a FWD car, and very few (none?) of the advantages of a rear wheel drive car.
The AWD rally cars go straight *really* well, however turning is not their strong suit. On the other hand, the Z does a decent job of accelerating, very well at turning, and very well at stopping. For ProSolo, the AWD Rally cars are hard to beat, but at Solo, it would be a race.

However to be legal you must use factory parts, except the rotor which can be cross-drilled/slotted but must be OE diameter, no aftermarket calipers or brackets to facilitate the install.
15.1.C. Equipment and/or specifications may be exchanged between
different years and models of a vehicle if (a) the item is standard
on the year/model from which it was taken, and (b) the years/
models are listed on the same line of Appendix A (Street Prepared
Classes). The updated/backdated part or the part to which
it is to be attached may not be altered, modified, machined or
otherwise changed to facilitate the updating/backdating allowance.
Standard factory installation methods, locations, and configurations
are allowed. The updating and/or backdating of engines,
transmissions or transaxles must be done as a unit; component
parts of these units may not be interchanged. Cars not
listed in the Street Prepared sections of Appendix A may not be
updated/backdated until approved by the SEB and published in the
official SCCA publication.

I must have misunderstood this rule. But what your citing is a rule that says that you may update a part that comes standard for a different year. Is something that comes on a Track model standard for an enthsiast model, etc.? The rule I was citing comes from the stock rule (which is the base rule before the exceptions for Street Prepared are outlined):
Option package conversions may be performed between specific
vehicles of a particular make and model, but only between
configurations from within a particular model year. Such
conversions must be totally complete and the resultant car must
meet all requirements of this Section. Alternate parts listed in a
factory parts manual are not authorized unless their use is
specifically referenced in the factory service manual or in a service
bulletin for the specific model.
Maybe I misunderstood. If so, I appoligize and stand corrected. So, by this interpertation, I can use the wheels from the track Z in BS? (I know this isn't a stock thread, but you seem to be an authority, and I'm curious).
