In car video of John D. @ Rockingham
kind of a pocono south, writ large. there's a couple extra turns on the infield which take you back onto the bowl, but very similar. unrelated to his driving, but i get bored on these courses. car sounds good though!
i am surprised at the short sleeves - no one i run with allows that...
come to VIR and discover elevation change

Well, that's the first time I've ever seen myself on track. I'm the LS directly in front of John, the one he passes on the back straight. He was quick.
After I let him by I tried to keep up, but it wasn't easy. I could close a little space on him in braking, because he has the stock Enthusiast brakes, and I have the Brembos. But he kept pulling away everywhere else. (He also has the advantage of knowing the track a lot better than I do. It was my first time there.)
My top indicated speed on the straights was around 110. John said after his incident that he had been trying to bump up his entry speed into NASCAR turn one from 120 to 125.
No, you can see him shift several times.
Mike, this may be a little indelicate, but I thought we were going to see something a little more interesting. Any chance?

I've talked to Jack at TWS and he says there is a Drivers Edge event tentatively scheduled for the weekend ending the Z convention. I need to see how many people are interested. He said a one day event might be possible mid week also, but that would be a pain to get organized i'm guessing. I'm heading to MSR in Dallas tomorrow for my first time, but i'm guessing TWS is going to be a more exciting track. I have a blast every time I go there. It would be nice to get a big group of Z cars there during the convention.

Well have to wait on John's permission on that.

On the short sleeves issue...
Basically it comes down to the track rules and the event organizer's rules. Rockingham and Roebling Road are the only tracks that allow us to run in short sleeves. They both, depending on weather conditions, will also allow shorts (let me tell ya, June at either track requires both!)
And yes... John's car is one of the best sounding cars out there... very 'italian' sounding to me.
James... are you serious that John only has enthusiast brakes?! That makes his lap times even more amazing (and a little scary lol), especially considering the hoosiers he's running.
