Default Racing Seats

Hi all,
I was wondering if you could recommend me a good racing seat with the following conditions:

It has to double for street and track use, so it has to be rigid.
It has to be able to take a 3 point harness as well as either a 4 or 5 point harness.
It's safety has to be good, as I will be using it everyday and will be losing my airbag.

I ran the CR1s when my Z was a daily driver, now I run a fixed back FX1 Pro.

Thanks for the info. Do you find these seats ample supportive for the track? Also, for the Corbeau fixed back seats, it says that they can take 5 point harnesses, but do they also work with 3 points?

The CR1s I did find very supportive on the track. Haven't used the FX1 Pro on the track yet, but that should be even better.

I just got it on my doorstep today so we will find out soon how they are compared to the CR1s. My first track day with the seat will be the first weekend in February.

Corbeau can make brackets for the 350Z, but it takes 4-5 weeks since they don't make it until you order it...like Jack-In-The-Box. I will open the box and snap some pics tonight.

I heart my Bride Gias.

NOT for the large person though.

Here are some quick snapshots I took of my new Corbeau FX1 Pro! I sat in it and was actually more comfortable than I was in the CR1s. Since they have the large sides by your hips that the reclineable seats dont, they don't pinch your sides so much. Those shoulder bolsters feel nice as well. I already like it better than the CR1s. And it only weighs 16 lbs!

Just as good or better as Bride or Sparco IMO and way cheaper.

They are essentially the same as the CR1s, but skinnier in the bottom section and a little taller. I haven't sat in them but the CR1s pinch a little if you are 34 or bigger in the waist, but then they also offer the wide versions. They will fit in the Z though.

I have had the Corbeau FX-1s for a while now (driver seat replaced only so far). I had to custom make my own seat brackets since I am so tall (6' 4") to fit with my roll bar so that I didn't hit my head on the headliner with a helmet on.

They are very supportive for track use. But honestly, I get sore and uncomfortable if I am in them for more than 2 hours. Not recommended for long trips.

Not if you had harnesses as well. The Sparcos and Bride seats that I have sat in are a little skinnier, but I am sure that you wouldn't move around too much in the Corbeaus either.

I personally use the Bride Artis III and Artis III Navi and love them. Hold you in nice and snug. Not for the heavy however. The width is similar to the Bride Zeta III's
