uh, there is no way a 350z could tow a s2k. just trying to manage the tongue weight alone could be an impressive feat of engineering (esp if the hitch is connected to the rear bumper support). it would take a lot of extensive and heavy pieces of metal for a 350 to do anything like that.

thanks. figure the trailer is 1000lbs and my s2k is 2200lb. so too much to tow on flat? oh well.

Actually, I agree with him. I wouldn't try this. However, if you do, I want pictures. I can have some real fun with my buddies in the S2000 forum with photo like that

if i were you i would try it. I would just attach a trailer hitch to the rear bumper, i think the bumper alone could support the weight of the trailer/s2k.

using a Z to tow a S2000.. talk about disgracing the Z, by towing its competition S2000.. for you, sell the Z and stick with the S2000..

the s2000 and 350z are often compared to when most customers look into the market for a 30K sports car.. that competition i meant.. so for the people that don't know much, it'll probably look like the s2000 is the preferred car over the z

to you, because ur s2000 is the modified one, i guess what i said was invalid.. plus why would you even ask such a question? it really doesn't sound right when you think it over in your head.. "can a Z tow something that probably weighs about the same as itself..?" hmm..

only reason i asked is because there are folks using frontiers to tow, and recent year frontiers basically have the same motor as the Z. hence the question.

I don't think anyone is questioning the motor's ability to tow.

rear bumper support is made out of aluminium. how is the rear bumper support attached to the car? by these flimsy (IMO) brackets that need to be rewelded even when adding a small utility trailer to the car for added strength.

imagine multiplying that effect by like.. 5. the hitches jim designs are desigend for like ~75lbs tongue and 600lbs load. yeah, those numbers are probably understated (i recall jim saying he could jump up and down on his all day) but pulling 3500lbs of metal? no thanks. i could easily see the rear bumper support being ripped off.

like i was saying before.. it would take an impressive feat of engineering. including modifying the frame to pull such a load, and somehow designing a hitch that does not attach to the rear bumper support but to the car itself so the car doesnt have stress on the rear end alone.

my two cents.

wow, you are retarded. A simple search of the forum and youd find all the info regarding towing. If you dont like to search, read the owners manual. If you dont like to read, try using common sense.

The z is not designed to tow 3k lbs of stuff. You can weld a hitch on there that could tow a million tons, but the z isnt setup for it. You have to figure in brake fade (stopping 6klbs is alot harder than 3k) and your clutch/transmission.

Seems like youve got money, but no brains.

According to the owners manual, it can tow a 1000lb load with 10% tongue load.
