Default Building up for autox

Hi,

I currently have an all stock 2004 performance model. I want to autox the car and know I will need to make some upgrades to be competetive. I am planning to upgrade the wheels and tires to lightweight 18" wheels with better tires. I would like to keep the cost down as much as possible, but still use quality parts that will hold up. So if I had to choose between price and quality, I would take quality. So what upgrades should I be looking at, and what are the best bang for the buck options?

Koni Shocks either SIngle or Double, single if price is your deciding factor
Brake Pads, Hawk HPS is my selection
Front Swaybar, Hotchkis on full stiff.
Exhaust, remove the stock muffler and put a tip on the end to get the exhaust out from under the car.

That's pretty much it.

Well the car is my daily driver, so I will probably have to keep the muffler (pretty sure its required in MA). Maybe an aftermarket exhaust.

What about springs with the shocks?

If you're looking to run in a stock class you can't change the springs.

The shocks I mentioned.

The muffler, you can create a tip you can swap out. If you're prepped well at an event you can change the muffler in 5-10 minutes with a little grunt work. I drive mine every day, about to break 70k. It's louder, but not too bad for me.
