I'm going to plan for it. I have a few items to overcome before then with the new car that requires time that I won't have till July. So we will see how fast I can get a cage, seats and about everything else one needs in a car. I've been to RA so many times to spectate (even back in the 70's) that I would be disapointed if I can't make it.
I guess you will be racing since you don't need these for HPDE. But here is some info:
Cage - call up Kirkracing they can get you one in 4 weeks and are in Birmingham, AL - so you could actually drive there and have them weld it in for you.
Seats - Kintex speed shop next to RA has FIA approved seats in stock.
Don't what else you need except some good brake pads, DOT 4 or better brake fluid, good tires, and a lot of b@lls.

No, I still will be doing the hpde, but building the car for the honda challenge. And did not want to waste the money on a roll bar for a handfull of hpde's while waiting on a racing liscense.
So its get a hardtop, call kirky (maybe BSI?)or who ever,& seats, to get the major stuff out of the way. The most difficult problem is finding a hard top under 2k used so the cage builder will know how high the halo can be.
Worse case I might bring out my 300zxtt if its finished in time. But it's more of a restore/sunny day car.
Not being able to do any track days is killing me!

I thought that the non-Vtec Acura Integra has been winning all the honda challanges anyway?
Well I don't know, the s2k seems to be doing well on the west coast. Although there are diffrent classes with in the Honda Challenge so it would probably be a great class winner. But I digress as it's has to a rwd vehicle. My only other thought was a factory five cobra but after looking at lap time its not so impressive (way to slow, not saying it would not be fun).
Here an article on the last event they had if you care to read :

But if your coming to the BBQ Saturday night of Roebling I can better explain how I ended up with an s2k. I miss my Z

Those Factory fives are great little track cars. Yet, would go with a Lotus with a 1.8L Toyota engine in it and maybe add a super charger. I don't think anyone would keep up with you then! Plus, you would probably get better gas milage than anyone else!
S2K's are great, I am just not a fan of convertables for sports cars. Plus, I don't fit in the S2K - since I am to tall. Yet, I fit in the Lotus.
Now if I could get the Z down to 2500# it would kill everything at the track. But, we all know that will never happen.

I'll be there, still determining whether to drive or work. If I work, I get one free, if I drive, I have a blast...... I have a few little things on the RX-7 to finish up and if those get done, it will be on track.
I would love to do this, but having a roadster means I can't unless I get roll bars and a few events a year don't warrant that. The bar behind the seats are not enough to be able to run I assume? Are there any events that will allow a vert to run without roll cage being added to a car?

There is a 911 that always comes and he doesn't have a cage. He just has the stock roll bars on the back of the seats. There are several miatas with the bars behind the seats as well.
Email Julie with a picture if you have to.

You can sign up for HPDE 1 or 2 whever you want. I had a friend who had experience just sign up for HPDE 2 without going to HPDE1. He had Road Atlanta experience several times before though.
