His setup is pretty common, what do you want to know about it?

Carter's a great driver, that explains most of it

What would you like to know? Like Christoc said the set up is pretty common, but every time I give it out people tend to disagree.

As the same with my old Mr2 set up.

I get the same thing.... But when you beat the guys that don't agree with you it is not a big deal.

Did you guys ever decide to run the 285/30 V710's. Just wondering how they worked.

The tires appear to be working well for them

After a year of testing and tuning and agonizingly slow progress our current setup is working well(compared to where we started, but won't really know how well till Nats) :
2005 Track Model
Tires 285/30/18 710's
Wheels OEM Rays
Swaybar Addco CT1 1 3/8" solid(available from www.strano@stranoparts.com)
Shocks Koni DA
Toe Frt 3/16" out(total), rear 1/16" in (total)
Camber Frt not adjustable,Rear 1.5 degrees neg
Spacers 1/4" front only
Exhaust Tube replacing muffler

Only additional test we plan is to try 285/30/18 Hoosier A6's because the A6 mounts easy on 8 and 8.5 inch rims. The Kumho 710's are near impossible to mount.

Always cool to see the guys that are doing good with a car willing to share info.

Wonder if it would be worth it to use a 3 piece wheel and build it around the tire.

The 3 piece wheel approach is probably the best solution.Just wish I had some cause I don't look forward to "power" mounting any more Kumho's.

Thanks for the setup info... That was just what I had in mind when I asked about it..

So with the 285s I assume that the spacer was mandatory for clearing the suspension pieces in the front? Or was it for rub. My 275s (05 hoosiers) don't have any clearance issues but are close on the inside of the wheel. I was worried about 285s and I have one or two to mount and try out thanks to Lee. My last question was did you have to roll the fenders in the front to make the 285s clear?

I have yet to experience the Ice mode problems that Chris was encountering but I have had some nanny interference when trail breaking, lee also experienced it when he drove my car at the last AI event...

No clearance problems with 285's or 275's with OEM wheels.Remember, the 285's are smaller diameter.
Wheel spacers in front only are to reduce understeer(lossen up the rear a bit).
No fender rolling required plus that is not allowed in stock class.

If any driver is confident with his/her abilities, they believe they can beat anyone with the same setup in the same car.
