Kodiak and Bogart are also sources for custom built wheels. Both are some of the lightest stuff out there. The bad part is Kodiak service SUCKS, they will take months to build your wheels and the offset might be right when you get them. Bogart is top notch on service and product. CCW is good but they are not that light.

After trying to deal with Kodiak with my last race car, SCREW them. No offense to those on here who work for them/like them....... they are not good. Bogart was recommended to me by a friend who works with Bassett. I shall have to check them out..... you wouldn't happen to have a link handy, would you?

And I appreciate the assistance.

Yeah, shifting to first has it's drawbacks. Of course, I had a few years experience in a FF Honda

Just sent the sales team at Bogart an email. Thanks again for the tip.

Thumbs up

I just received excellent news from Team Dynamics racing. I believe that my custom rims will go into production shortly, am just awaiting confirmation via email.

I will post all information when I receive it.

nice. glad you found something! i couldn't believe how much a difference it was going from a stock wheel to a lightweight wheel as experienced in my codrives car. 24lbs stock wheels -> 16lbs koseis.

This is just another disapoitment. The Team Dynamics crew has made themselves scarce. It seems that they cannot back up what they had said about making some wheels for me.

I NEVER heard back from Bogart!

Looks like my only choice is Volk CE28N because those are the ONLY rims in the free world that come in the correct sizes for my autox needs. I'm thoroughly miffed to as why they are the only ones made in 17x7.5 and 17x8 with offset of 24-36 on the 7.5 and 27-39 on the 8"

Time to melt my credit card

Bogart is a small operation, family type deal, I am sure they took a looooong weekend for the 4th. I would bet if you check with them near the end of the week they will help you. Everyone I know that has Bogarts loves the wheels and the service.

I emailed them on the 28th, so I suppose I will try to contact them again. If they can make wheels that are less than 13 pounds and cost less than 500 each then I'd be interested. Otherwise, it's the Volks.

Have you considered the Rota Slipstream in 17x7.5 +35 and 17x8.0 +35 ?

Super cheap and pretty light...

Also Tire Rack have the ASA JH3 in 17x7.5 +32 in stock (23lbs. each) and only $69 each! This would work if you don't mind running different style front and rear... I'm sure finding a 17x8 for the rear is no problem.

No way they will be less than 13lbs.

Too wide... cone dodgers have stupid rules that say you can't run wider than stock tires

I spoke to two Rota dealers and they both said that no such Slipstreams exist...... if this is not true, and there are, in fact the wheels you speak of.... please give me a link!

My stock rims weigh 23 pounds, I'm looking to reduce that weight. Even for $69, I wouldn't want another 23 pounder.

http://www.rotawheel.com/SLIPSTREAMPAGES.htm

There is no way they will be 23lbs... probably between 16-18lbs each

According to the Elise guys the 17x7.5 +32 weighs 17lbs. (4x100 bolt pattern)

http://www.blackwatchracing.com/shop...products=elise

worst case, you can buy those and have them re-drilled because they just had a huge group buy in that exact size and there are tons in stock for the Elise.

No such tire rule... You can run any size tire that will fit the stock size wheel.
