Ok so I traded the Z a few month back in order to buy a race car
. Wanted a Factory Five Spec Racer Cobra instead bought a Honda S2000, well the wife liked it to much to turn it into a race car
. So I went back to the Factory Five and I will have one here next week!
This is a pic of the exact car...

I know this is slightly off topic for this forum but everyone I know comes to this section.
I'll post some pics when she arrives next week as well.
Time to registar for some events....

Does zero to sixty in 4.8 seconds in this configuration. Of course if I wanted to change classes I could put anything in it motor wise, but I will play here a while. Here's a link to the cars specs

Mike,
Great choice, I love the Factory Fives. Only car at Roebling that passed me - ever
. Yet, I passed him also
. Now you can set up the chase cam on your car again
. Yet, you will really need to work the last turn at Roebling to get that Factory Five over 150 mph before turn 1! Also, you will have to learn to drive with arm restraints.
Looking forward to seeing it!

Mike I hear the car tops out about 130 at Roebling due to the cars aero (would not think that looking at it) and lack of hp to push it. But still can turn 1:21's. Hope to jump out there as soon as Roebling is repaved.
Dmang281 that will be great if they build it!
Stacy I've been checking the Bell GTX SA2005, according to the website it is ideal for open cars with its front lip and rear spoiler (sounds ricey)...my head wobbles enough on its own.

I agree with Stacy about the helmet. I had a student in a Factory Five at VIR last year, and as we got up to speed, I thought my helmet (Bell M2) was going to pull my head off. I can't name a good helmet for that situation, but good aero is critical. Good luck, and have fun in that car. It has terrific torque, and handles great, but I was surprised that the brakes didn't slow us faster.
BTW, here are pix of me and the student in the car, and her out of the car.
That's her husband with her. (Dammit.) He also drives a F5. It was her first time in the car, although she'd driven karts before. She was a good student: a little too cautious, perhaps, but we had a good time.

Was that a Stephen Marcus prepard/built car? If so what did you think about the car, this is where my ride is coming from.
Thanks everyone for the compliments!

As you can see, the cars were provided by Off Road Only. They offer an arrive-and-drive deal for about six students. My student's husband owns and races a Factory Five, and has a deal with ORO to maintain and transport it for him. His wife drove one of their other cars. I'm terrible with names of people I've only met briefly, and I could be wrong, but I think that's Steve Marcus working on the car. And it has a Marcus decal on the side, so I guess it is a Marcus-prepped car.
I didn't get to drive the car on track, unfortunately, and the student (can't remember her name, either) didn't exactly push it to the limit. But it seemed to handle pretty well, and the power and torque were great. I don't remember exactly what engine it had, but you should get some idea from the picture.
As I mentioned, the only shortcoming I could see was the brakes. I was trying to get her to brake really hard, but she didn't quite get it. So I drove her around the paddock to show her what really hard brake application felt like. To my surprise, it didn't stop as quickly as I was used to in my Z. Thinking back on it, that might have been partly because the [race] pads and tires were not up to full temp and partly because the paddock pavement is not as grippy as the track. So my impression may not be an accurate view of their real-world performance on track.
But I'm sure you'll have a great time in it! When and where is your first track event? Coming out to Mid-Ohio next week?
Do you mind if I ask roughly how much you paid?

This was a previously enjoyed car at 26.2. I did not ask what a new build would be but imagine for a equally equiped car would run upper 30's? I would have enjoyed building one, but voice inside my head presisted me to buy a built car and play now!!
He does have another one thats copper in color for sale for 26k as well if I remember correctly.

I was Conrads instructor at Roebling w/ THSCC, FUN car and it sounds AWESOME, the wind wasnt too bad wearing my BELL X-15 helmet. Mpowers, you'll love the car, not quite as agile as I would have expected but I guess it does have a big V8 upfront, but helluva fun car!
Speaking of Conrad, does anyone know what happened to his car? We pitted in second session on Saturday with a HORRID grinding noise from his engine, I wanted to check in and see how the car was doing

Congrats on the purchase; that's a great-looking car. The Factory Five racers that were at the NASA event at Miller Motorsports Park in Utah earlier this year sure looked like they were having a good time in those cars (and I found that they were good people, too).
Have fun with it!
