Did you notice much of a gain with the test pipes. I autox my car in BSP and I'm looking for some more upgrades to hopefully become competitive one day.

 

How did the test pipes affect the exhaust tone? Now that I have a daily driver I wouldn't mind a little more volume from my autocross/weekend driver, but I definitely don't want any rasp.

 

Then look at high flow cats and not test pipes. Test pipes = rasp. I have on of the best built resonated test pipes (Labree) and I still have a very slight rasp at around 3k RPM at WOT. I tolerate it since its so minor but if you dont at least have good resonated test pipes (from what i have seen/heard) you will have a lot of rasp.

 

nkohler is right. They do have a little rasp around 3k, even though they're resonated. I didn't mind it either, because of power gains.
