Good road course track tires for stock TRACK rims?
I've got the 18" factory stock TRACK rims on my 350Z. What track tires would you recommend for the front and the rear rims? I don't need to go wild on tire width or performance. I'm just looking for a solid track tire to put on my TRACK rims. I've got two complete sets of rims, one for the road and one for the track so I'd like to get the stock tires off and replace them with some good track tires. Does such a thing exist for the stock 350Z TRACK rims?
What tire sizes would you recommend? Most that I've looked through don't look like good fits for the factory rims.
If you know anyone who has used tires let me know! Thanks for the help.

Otherwise, a good street tire like a Kuhmo MX or Falken RT-615 will do a great job.

I believe in going with a good street tire first, and then once you are beyond the limits of them, then you go to the R Compounds.
A really like the RT-615's, and you can drive to the track on them with no issues.
For R's The RA1s last great for an R compound, but boy do the Hoosier S04/06's stick, and the V710s. The RA1s are only slightly less grippy, but they last twice as long. The also heat cycle better.

I did not know that. I see in your sig that you have 245/40R18 and 255/40R18. Those are the sizes I'm getting in Dunlop SP Sport 9000. That was the only combination that I could get to fit these wheels. I won a Dunlop certificate, so had to go with Dunlop and not Azenis.

The Nitto NT-01 tires look like they have a lot of surface area and have a rating of 100. They look like they would be a good competitor to the Falken 615 tire. I don't know if they have sizes that we could use yet. The Falken 615 tires are rated at 200. The NT-01 are rated at 100, which is the same rating as the Toyo RA1's. Unfortunately, I think those ratings are relative when comparing across manufacturers and are only useful with comparing within a manufacturer.
Last year I had Falken 615's on a different car and liked them very much. They were decent performance for the price for out on the track (road course), but would get "greasy" in the final laps of a 20-or-so minute stint. They were a pain on the street for daily driving. The beefy tread pattern would pick up every stone and for a 200 rating tire, they would still get hot/soft enough in my daily 35-to-50 (depending on traffic) commute to/from work that stones were constantly "cutting into" the rubber.

are you guys looking for everyday driving tires or track tires, i have some hoosier R3S05s 245/40/18s all four, they are on stock 18s, they are heat cycled, not shaved. i have about three or four hot laps on a small course 1.6mi, then it rained and the rest of the day and they were driven wet all day...
they are practically brand new. i will let them go for 700 shipped for all four or if you are in orlando area a better deal to pick them up, thanks guys...
i can take them off the stock rims also and send them to you for a 50 bucks off, i will still have to pay to have them removed but then shipping will be easier...

Definitely look into the Nitto NT-01. But like the Hoosiers, only for dry weather. They have a stiffer sidewall than their sister Toyo RA-1, and bigger treadblocks, and a slightly stickier compound. But in the wet they are a "no-no". Good price, last well, and really grip.
