Just put new front (zerosun) and side skirts (stillen). Everything else is still B stock legal. Where does this put me now for AutoX? Probly BSP right?

 

No body kits in BSP you are looking at SM2.

 

Time to throw a LOT of money at it to go along with the body kit

That's the big items - $42,400 plus the purchase price of the car.

 

You forgot the body kit and big @ss wing.

 

Any body kit puts you in SM2? Well that sucks ***.

 

I thought only airdams and rear spoilers moved you classes.

You affect you class by:
-Add, replace, or modify front splitter or front fascia for aerodynamic or ground effect purposes
- Add Rear wing
- Add or modify canards
- Add or fabricate flat bottom/belly tray (adds the most points - 2x Rear wing!)
- Add rear diffuser
- Add rear vertical panels
- Add side skirts

 

The way I read it, front and rear spoiler move you from BS to BSP. It's the side skirts, etc. that aren't allowed in BSP so they would move you to SM2.

From 15.2 of the Solo 2 rules for BSP:

H. Spoilers and cosmetic trim pieces are permitted. Side skirts may
not be used. Spoilers must comply with the following subsections.
The intent of this allowance is to accommodate commonly
available appearance kits, and replicas thereof, which
have no significant aerodynamic function at Solo speeds.
1. A spoiler may be added to the front of the car below the
bumper. It may not extend rearward beyond the front most
part of the front wheel well openings, and may not block
normal grille or other openings, or obstruct lights. Openings
may not be used for the purpose of ducting air to the radiator
or oil cooler, but they may allow air to flow through a permitted
oil cooler provided no ducting is used. The spoiler may
not function as a wing.
2. A spoiler may be added to the rear of the car provided it
complies with either of the following:
a) It is a production rear spoiler which is standard or optional
equipment of a U.S. model of the vehicle, or an exact
replica in an alternate material.
b) It is a non-production rear spoiler which is mounted to the
rearmost portion of the rear hatch, deck, or trunk lid. The
spoiler may extend no more than 10 inches from the
original bodywork in any direction. Alternatively, in a
hatchback, the spoiler may be mounted to the rear hatch
lid at or near the top of the hatch; in such a configuration
the spoiler may extend no more than 4 inches from the
original bodywork in any direction. The spoiler may be no
wider than the bodywork, and it shall not protrude beyond
the overall perimeter of the bodywork as viewed from
above. The use of endplates is prohibited. Angle of attack
is free. The spoiler may not function as a wing.

rear wings and front spoilers are allowed. look at the bsp cars at nationals.

Only stock wings are allowed in SP. Look at the pics and you will see SP cars with rear spoilers, old school Nascar type, but not wings. Wings are ok in ST and SM.

 

What's the difference between a "wing" and a "spoiler"? Spoiler mounted directly to the body, wing up off the body on support pillars?

I'd guess that the NISMO rear spoiler is actually considered a wing in that case.

A wing has air pass over, under and around it. A spoiler will have air pass over it, as well as around the sides but not under. For the intent of the rules it does not matter what the manufacture calls it but rather how it functions and mounts.

 

so, if you have a 06 350z with nismo kit add-on purchased and installed by dealer during the new car purchase offer, will you still in B-stock?
