Nice driving. Looks like you posted a solid 2:10 in the laps that I watched. The long config that we ran that day added about 1.5 - 2 seconds.
You going to thunderhill this weekend?

Well, I just got back from Horse Theif Mile (willow springs) last week, so I haven't really thought of tracking again the coming week, but if there is still avalibility i wouldnt mind going!

Hmm... I am a novice myself not an instructor like you. But I would have thought that there was a regular tendency towards apexing too early, and the habit of holding the shifter, as well as shifting with a fist into 4th...

Just kidding, .. don't want to be a wise a** here...

Just checking my abilities to observe and my understanding of the subject..
Besides it would benefit the original driver more to get some good hints for improvement from you (solicit solicit ) rather than the "nice driving" clap on the shoulder...

Then again I might just be wrong on all accounts.
Either way:
Congrats to the driver for a fast & nice run

Thanks for the observations, but for the most part ppl tell me i tend to take a later apex and as for shifting i think its whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident. But i dont know, i am a novice too, so i might be wrong. =P

Ok, got it..
Still hoping for some feedback from daveh so we can watch and learn...

With regard to holding the shifter, I had an instructor who I thought was really great in many ways.
Aside from the more important stuff that he told me, he made me always hold the wheel with two hands. Everytime my hand would rest too long on the shifter (on the straights), he would tap me on the hand..

Are you also driving in this video? Or is it somebody else?
Nice video!

Edit:
BTW:
I am kind of amazed how much passing is allowed...
Who organized this event? Most events I have seen so far were pretty restrictive with passing rules and had cones setup at every turn in , apex, track out....

This video is fun to watch, cause the passing makes it look more like a race than hpde...

Yes, its me driving.
NASA was the organizer, the reason passing were less restrictive was because the sessions i was running were HPDE 3s. HPDE 1 and 2 are alot more restrictive.

Holy cr*p! You blew off a Cayman(!), a Super 7, an Evo, a few "dedicated race/track cars", and a Spec Miata!

Great job!

Haha..thx. Definitely the G and the Z have very high potentials! They both have excellent platforms and strong engines. Highly recommend both G and Z owners to track their vechicles, it definitely puts a smile on your face!

Yeah, any kind of performance driving kind of makes "driving fast on the street" kind of boring.

I've driven Infineon ("short" version, when they were taking down the bridges) and Laguna Seca in formula cars, and I've driven Portland (PIR) in street cars. There's nothing like the feeling of getting a lap "right" to improve your outlook on life!

I'm around racing quite a bit (Flagging) and compete in national-level Solo events (well, most of the time I compete, at Nationals this year, apparently I didn't "show up" ), so I've got a pretty good idea of the performance potential of the various cars. I've also seen that particular Spec Miata race, and it and it's driver are not as slow as you made them look!
