With that Sparco bar, the reason its not stable is that it does not have any other supports for rigidity. If the BCR bar had the sparco thickness, it would seem to at that point have most everything going for it (outside of roll-over protection).
The sparco model, IMO, is flawed because the leverage from 15-25 G's of load in the event of an impact might be enough to swing it around the only two points of attachment. Again, making it useless in terms of a harness mounting point. IIRC, they don't make this bar anymore... maybe thats why, I don't know.
Sorry....couldn't think of the right description. Look at the bracket that mounts to the seatbelt hardware. It should be flipped so that it cups the pillar. His setup has it so they bracket doesn't do this. I think that is causing the stability issue.
