Harness bars??
If someone could plz list the different harness bars for our cars, and where to get them. I did a search, and just had alot of crap pop up. I really want to get one and wasnt sure where to post this. I figured the suspension section was the best one, b/c theyre are more hardcore track guys here. So if anyone could plz plz plz post the different kinds and where to get them, I would be most grateful. Thank you.

Can you guys post pics of your harness bars? Just curious on the design and mounting points. Also, can you describe if you had to fabricate anything to install your harness bar or were they straight bolt-on installation?

Here's the Sparco
It's kinda wierd in that it only mounts to the upper safety belt mounting points. It doesn't seem too stable but I haven't had any issues since I got it torqued down good..

Harness Bar
I use and endorse the BCR bar. I believe it is the best engineered, strongest built and finest looking bar available. It does what it is supposed to do without any compromises.

I'll refer you to a prior post of mine:
https://my350z.com/forum/showpost.ph...7&postcount=21
Its on the top of page 2 of this thread:
https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....ht=harness+bar
Short version?
I would highly recommend against a harness bar (vs something like the Kirk roll bar) due to my belief that in a serious incident, it is unlikely to be strong enough to support the loads placed on it. Think about it this way. A major impact may decelerate the vehicle at 30G. If you weigh 200lbs, and 50% of your weight has to be absorbed by the shoulder straps, that's 3000lbs of load.
Additionally, if EnthuZ chooses to comment here, I would take anything said with a rather large grain of salt. If you read the above-referenced thread, you'll see that at no point does he identify himself as the seller of the BCR bar. Even after being called out on it, he doesn't acknowledge the relationship.
If you really feel like you need harnesses, at least get the Kirk roll bar. If you can afford it, find the local racing cage fabricator and ask them to custom build you a bar. It will be welded in (not that a Kirk couldn't be welded after the fact), and if they are good at what they do, the fit to the headliner and B pillars will be much better (tighter).

Well I was thinkin of using it only for track, kinda to give me a better hold in the seat. I want to try this, plus I kinda would like to have the camera/fire extinguisher mounted there.

There's a very very very simple and effective trick to keeping yourself in your seat without the need for harnesses (assuming you have the leather option):
Go buy some of that foam/mesh-looking drawer lining, or tool box lining material and sit on it. I've used it in my bimmer with leather (and I'm pushing 240lbs) and it works great.

No I didnt get leather for the purpose that I knew I was gonna track it. I do it like once a month, since I turbo'd the car its alot faster now too. Its harder to drive, but I feel now that like Im goin faster. Thats where the problem that my upper body doesnt really stick, ya know? The bcr one is looking like the best one, b/c of its mounting points and such. Its the price thats really making me think and not act. 500 buckaroos, is alot of a long piece of metal and some cool metal sticks attached lol.

My 2 Cents - When looking at improving the car, the first thing to improve is Safety. And you should never cut corners on Safety. And in my opinion, a harness bar is cutting corners!
Buy a Roll Bar that can not only provide a harness bar, but offers roll over protection. Plus, as an added bonus it will stiffen up the car!
