^^^Yeah! Have you been there with the new extension yet? The 3.1 mile configuration is as much, if not more, fun that Buttonwillow in my opinion. What about bringing a Time Attack back there?
Oh, by the way, any idea when the full list of lap times will be up from this past weekend? I have been checking the site ever since I got back. I am dying to know what I ran in the last time attack session.

Also +1 for bringing a time attack back to Spring Mountain! Love that track - better than Buttonwillow by a factor of 2 - IMHO.
I can tell you that we mostly will NOT have a TIME ATTACK there next year.
Anything is possible though. There is a good shot at having an open HPDE out there this next year.
I have driven the track with the extension, and I agree that's it one of the better tracks I've driven. It's a lot of fun the way they set that track up.
Oh, and I will have all the times form both days of the Time Attack weekend up later tonight.
Check to see them tomorrow morning

. Is that because of the fiasco last time with the re-surfacing?
. Is that because of the fiasco last time with the re-surfacing?The only way I can see us running a Time Attack in Vegas is to hit Vegas motor speedway. That could work, and although the track isn't nearly as good as SM it could still happen.
Spring Mountain is a great circuit, but it is a schlepp to get there. If we do an event there, I will go. The times reported from the last event reflect some very outstanding driving!
Laguna Seca is a track you make pilgrimage to no matter how far it is to get there. Never be a bad turnout there, and I find every opportunity to get there whenever possible.
Sears Point is also well located and a fabulous track. But there are more walls and bad outcomes possible there than almost anything short of running an event through Times Square at lunchtime. I would go.
Buttonwillow is a great track to run even if it is a bit out of the way. It would be great if they would resurface it and take some of the chatter out of it. But it is comparatively safe. I would go.
Cal Speedway is well located, but I don't think it is very interesting as an infield course. IF we could run it with the Roval, great event. Maybe go, even though it is in my backyard, if we only run infield course.
Thunderhill is a great track, but again too far out of the way unless and until the draw power of participation overcomes that. But I would go to run that track.
Reno Fernley is, well, if you think Spring Mountain is out of the way, try stopping at the fourth moon of Saturn for a soda as marking your half way point on the trek to Fernley. But a really superb set up track configuration from those I have talked to that have run it (I have not). I am going to go up there next spring and really looking forward to it. But for time attack....it would have to be awfully special as an event.

I've heard Reno Fernley is a great drive. I think I'll have to go there some time. Redline doesn't have any dates to run at Reno Fernley, but I think I'll tag along with the next group that runs there.
Trackmasters-Racing is going Memorial day weekend, Sat & Sun. I think the Sacramento area Porsche Club is going with them. I definitely will sign up for that one. Nice people and cars. I ran with them at Sears Point on November 11th and there were also several Lotus Elise cars, in addition to all the hot Porsche cars
