I really appreciate his offering me his car, and I would certainly do the same for him. If I got a really big deposit in advance--he's a lot wilder than I am! And his car has the scars to prove it!
As for daveh, we only know each other from here at mw350Z.com. So although I appreciate his offer, too, he is apparently slightly insane.
Yes slightly insane
I was going to propose a car swap if I'm ever on the east coast. I figured you'd be driving in the intermediate group (while I have fun in the advanced group). I can't see you abusing the car any more than I would, and if you brake it you bought, it leaving me with an 07 Z in my garage. Enjoy the high desert. An elise should be quite fun.

Translation: James is a very slow driver, and he's not likely to do any damage because he doesn't have the guts to go over about 45 mph anywhere on the track.
What about a Hertz Mustang GTH? My last instructor rented one for the day to 'check it out'. I'm not sure if you can get one with manual transmission, but I thought I'd throw it out there. At least it's rwd.
I would consider a Prius too...Under the right hands (and tires), I have a feeling they can be fast. daveh will probably provide a review of that beast sometime this year.
