Default Want to build my 1st autocross car

So I'v been thinking, and instead of building a drag car...I want to build and autoX car. I'v been told by alot experienced racers out here that roadcourse and autoX will make me a better driver, so I want to try it out. What kind of suspension/tires should I look into for building a car that will possibly be daily driven, and be used in the monthly autocross event setup out here. Also...I'v seen alot of G's doing roadcoarses, but not so much autoX. Would a G coupe do ok in an autocross event?

A G35 coupe can do fine in auto-x, it's all about the driver. Auto-x generally has very strict rules about mods and can bump you into a category that will be very tough to be competitive in. My BBK and carbon fiber put me in SM2 with the big boys even though neither really helps my times. Since I am in it for fun only, I do mods that I want to do and then just run whatever category that puts me in.

R compound tires will be the biggest difference you can make, but can't be used on a daily driver. I am no expert on the rules, but other legal mods to stay in stock class are shocks and a stiffer front sway bar. I'd try both auto-x and road course, chances are you will like one more than the other and then you will know which direction to go.

Thanks. No road coarses anywhere near me sadly, so for now I'm restricted to autoX. I didnt even think about the dif class rules, I should probably find out how the locals catagorize before I do anything.

Get out there and run , run whatever you have for now then learn about the rules and mod for your class and budget. Personally Falken615's are my tire of choice , long lasting , good grip and i can drive them to events.
