Default ebc yellow, anyone have experience

I used the search feature. From some research this looks like a great drive to the track, drive on the track, and then drive home pad. At my last track day one of the instructors had a g35 with brembos(i have brembos as well) he said they were much better than hawk hp+ in terms of noise, dust, and braking. I am always looking for a second or third or fourth opinion. Has anyone used these pads track, street, or otherwise. They claim rotor friendliness and anyone with brembo's knows the price of rotor friendliness. I have read the track pad database and numerous other post about other pads so please only reply if you have experience with this pad specifically as to keep it on topic and hopefully useful to someone in the future.

I've only heard of the EBC Red's and Green's. Never heard of the Yellows.

EBC Yellows are for more severe duty/heavier cars than yellows if I'm not mistaken. I have reds on the front of my other car, and they don't have much bite when cold. There is a track pad thread stickied to this forum. That might be a good place to start, rather than being a pioneer with an untested pad out there. Porterfield and Ferodo come to mind. Hawk doesn't offer much in terms of what you are looking for.

I don't have any experience on EBC yellows, but did sample their 'red' pads a few years back on an ITA car. For road racing use, they were extremely marginal. Wore down to the backing plate by the end of a SCCA race weekend on a 2700# car.

I certainly hope the yellows are better!

My yellow EBC experience:

They were recommended from a friend who is the best late braker in the Southwest Miata Spec series.

No fad, high initial bite and torque. Torque is constant with temp. Good modulation. Good wear on rotors. Low pad wear. I like them.

(Used EBC before (don't remember compond), 3 years ago on the Vette and one day on the track was all they were good for.)

Disclaimer this experience is on a Miata; light car (2300 lbs) that requires lots of momentum (low HP) to go around the track. Non-ABS with OEM braking system.

So two NASA instructors opinions, one with a g35 coupe and the other with a Miata, how can you go wrong.

Seriously, would like to know how they work out. Would also like to know how they work out at Sebring.

Have fun at the track because having fun is what it is about.

^I'm more interested in more detailed feedback and some features such as co-efficient of friction and rotor friendiless...

The coeffecient of friction is .6 which is the same as the other streetable race pads but ebc says there ok for street use and ebc claims rotor friendliness. I just got mine in the mail so as soon as I get around to putting them on which is probably in 2 and half weeks cause my stock pads aren't dead and I have a about 200 miles to drive to limerock to bed them in(they even have this bed in coating). But for $94 shipped if they work as well other intermediate track pads(pf-01, hp+, ds2500) they are like half price and if they don't tear up rotors then ebc makes brake pads out of magic. Who doesn't like magic? So the night of june 21 I will be posting a review of these cause I will put about 400 street miles and a track day at limerock on them.

did you reuse your shims or just use the ones already stuck on there. Your review was good but everybody just loves numbers around here. Oh and when I go down the street and come up on the first stop sign what should I expect.
