Default TZC at Rockingham October 6th and 7th

Hey guys... help us make the last event of the year a success!!

We'll be hosting our usual DE and time trial at the NC Speedway in Rockingham October 6th & 7th. Since this is the last event of the year, we try to do it as right as we can... NASCAR garages are available for $25 for the weekend (while they last) and we will be providing a catered buffet style lunch both days for everyone (guests are $10 ea).

The DE weekend is $265 after your Z club discount...

(Current members simply check the "Member" entry on the order form)
The time trial is $30
(Open to cars prepped w/a minimum of a 4-point roll bar, current date 5 or 6 point harnesses, metal to metal mounted fire extinguisher, and an AMB transponder (some available as loaners or for purchase with advance notice)

We are also working on trying to get a group of vintage and possibly modern NASCAR cars for some exhibition runs around the full oval.

If you haven't driven Rockingham yet, it is something you need to experience at least once in your tracking lifetime, if for no other reason to experience 22 degree banking in your street car ... and depending on what happens this fall, there's a possibility this may be your last chance to run at Rockingham.
(The track is scheduled for sale/auction this winter. Rumor is the American Stock car Association has made an offer.)

It's a short circuit (about 1.6 miles) but feels faster because of the layout. Like VIR South course, you get a ton of laps and the track has a good rhythm and flow to it. This year we added some gators to the infield section to help alleviate some of the debris issues.

At least 3 of us from Carolina Z Club will be there, and a friend of mine in a Mustang. Can't wait.

Hey Marty, I enjoyed this event last year and went ahead and signed up for it again this year (especially since the future of Rockingham is currently unknown). Look for a black (98% stock) FD RX-7, since I sold my Z (Silver Greddy TT car).

I do have one question about my run group though. My only HPDE experience was this event last November, but during that event I was asked if I wanted to be put in yellow group for the final session of the second day. I did decline because I figured it would be better to just wait till my next event which I admit was not suppose to be this far in the future. When I signed up, I put yellow group, but based on the experience I have shown in my Dashboard I am not sure if it will be allowed. Any ideas on this one?

One way or another, I'll see ya out there.

No...VIR.

I'll get it from you sometime.

On second thought, if you think about it, give it to Morris. Post #5, he'll be there. He's in the CZC with me.

Thanks dude.

M-P,
We will probably start you in green since it's a new car and only the 2nd event. But if you show the same progression as you did last time, you can be moved up fairly quickly in the event.

Yea it was a lot of fun. Short track but very dynamic. Would have been perfect if I didn't have to tow my car home because of a broken coil/spark plug wire.

The banking is dramatic, for sure.

The Rock for me was fantastic....like mentioned above it is short but the banking makes all that up and some. played hell with my right front tire, however. Now that is under new ownership, hoping there will be a lot more driving activity down there. Its close and fun!!!

Mark,
you need to get your priorities straight!!

(Double winks)

I hope all went well, you don't seem old enough to have a married daughter. We missed you and hope to see you out there soon.
