Thanks for the replies, the last car I autocrossed was my Lotus Elan and a CRX before that, the Z is fresh territory.I 'll start with 38Fand 36R and put a little white shoe polish on the edge of the sidewall.

on a square setup (275/40/18) I run 37 front 34-35 rear - seems to work well to balance the car. Then again the car is more setup for roadcourse use, with the rear sway set on full soft / it's not as easy to rotate (pushes a tiny bit on corner entry, it could be that I'm just going too fast on street tires hehe)

ran last weekend with 35psi all way around. it worked fine for me, and my instructor told me to.
correction: I was running 40psi hot and the wear on the outter edge of the tires were right on.

Too high. The best I found at my Autox was around 39 front 38-37 rear. All depends on the surface type obviously as well.

Did my first autocross over the weekend, find out that I have alot too learn. One thing that I saw was people feeling their tires after every run and some people were spraying their tires with something. Does anyone one know about this. I think I was running about 40 PSI

They have race tires, your street tires don't need that. You might want to drop the tire pressure so you are using the whole thing, not just the center of it. Modern tires are built a lot stronger than the older ones, you don't need to pump it 5psi more than stock to prevent it from rolling over.

FYI
The latest craze in STU when there are two drivers is to keep 4 towels in a cooler with water and ice. When they get in grid after a run, they put the wet towels on the tires. Pretty inventive. I've used ice in the sprayer but they have taken it farther.
