What;s a realistic "track weight"
I am debating about buyign another 350z for a dedicated track/racecar.
Whats a good weight for a fully stripped 350z.......with cage, no AC, no creature comforts? No carpet , full race car prepped?
Thanks

I hear the interior parts are pretty light and taking all the plastic and carpet will only get you like 30? Do a forum search on weight or something like that, there have been many threads about shaving off the pounds and many people have listed what savings to expect.

i have heard the same thing about the guts of the interior. but if you take out the stock seats, put in one race seat that will shave off some. i am sure stripping the ac will save you some, those parts are rather heavy. a lot of race componets are lighter compared to oem parts as well. Oh and not that i know you but go on a diet prolly the healthiest and cheapest.
btw, i think i have seen your car around. One sold last year in Burlington with the spoiler that you have in your avatar. yours maybe???

You want a good track weight or a reasonable one? Great would be 3000lbs with driver - but it's going to a be a battle to get it there.

@ 3000# with Driver is about what I'm hoping for without having to spend$50k to get it there!
SOld the VIper awhile back, it was an awesome car and hella fun to drive, but after going through 6 sets of tires in 6 weekends i figured it was time for a car with a little less wear items. So i bought an e36 m3 and turned it into an BMWCCA I-prepared racecar.
I was at rockingham last weekend and got to drive a friends 350z and forgot how much I enjoyed driving the Z on track! SO i am toying with the idea of getting back into it. How have you been? In CA now?

To answer the original post, we had a fully stripped 350Z weigh in at 298X lbs at CMP.

Yep, moved out to the land of pot-smoking hippies, illegal immigrants, surfing, sunshine, no bugs, and perfect weather earlier this year.

Too lazy to search to confirm that though. I also believe the #35 car is still for sale, ~$50k turnkey w/ some spares.
